    Loot Council Guidance

    Introduction:
The Loot Council is a system we use during raids as a way to fairly distribute loot among players, it is by no means a perfect system and mistakes can happen. If you think loot was awarded incorrectly, please request the reasoning in a polite manner, and you should get a response. All members of the council should try to keep in mind what item is best in slot for the player, and where they fall in priority.

The mod used for the Loot Council is RCLootCouncil, everyone will need this to be able to vote on pieces.

    The Loot Master:
Whoever is in charge of distributing loot, and appointing a council is called the Loot Master. They can go against the vote of the council if they feel that an item would be better used in the hands of another player. The council members they appoint will be up to them, and they should communicate with the council if needed, such as if they are going against the council, or there is a discussion on how to give something out.

If you have a problem with how loot has been awarded, you should message the Loot Master and get an idea behind the thinking of the councils decision and vote.

    Priority:
Main characters of regular raiders will get priority over alt characters, and those who only occasionally turn up to raids. Every effort will be made to ensure no one is left out, but tier pieces and best in slot items will go to players on their main character before any other is considered.

    What to Vote:
This list is in order of what vote takes priority in comparison to other votes, with pass being the lowest priority, obviously.

Need/1st 2 Piece/1st 4Piece: If the item is essential to your build, best in slot, or just great overall stats for what you are using. Please note, an item level upgrade is not always better, and the Loot Council will be able to see your current gear, and will be able to make a decision on that knowledge.

Minor Upgrade/Other Piece/Upgrade: If the item is slightly better than what you have, it's a tier piece you don't yet have, or you are looking for that TitanForgeDream on an existing tier piece.

Greed: You don't need the item, but you would like to have it, perhaps for your Off-Spec, or looking to try something a bit different. You won't get this item before those who need.

Transmog: You don't need the item for anything but the appearance, we all love to be fashionable, but if it's not going to benefit you in any other way, it will go to one of the above if selected by someone else.

Pass: You won't get the item, you don't want it, you never wanted it, you won't even send it a Christmas card.

    Tier Sets:
Everyone wants to get their tier set, we understand that and will try to accommodate. Main characters will be given a larger priority for these over alt characters, additionally, if multiple players request this as an upgrade, it will go to the player who benefits the most from the item. A guaranteed upgrade will be prioritised above a chance of an upgrade, after following previous rules on characters.

For example, Bob (Main), Sue (Alt) and Frank (Main) roll Upgrade on Tier gloves, Sue is out of the running as she is on an alt, Bob already has the gloves at Heroic level, Frank only has the gloves at LFR level, the gloves would go to Frank, as they are a guaranteed upgrade.

    Rolls~~:
If there are multiple players who need the same thing, and have the same priority, then the person who has the highest roll will be awarded the item. LootCouncil automatically does a roll for each player, everyone will be able to see their own roll, and that of others. Note that a best in slot item for a player will take priority over the roll result.

    Make use of Notes:
You can add a note when you vote, make use of this option, it is a good way to say why you need an item, and in the event of a tie, it could help making a decision. While rolls are good, it can be better to discuss how to distribute the loot as a raid group as well, so if Frank and Sue get a trinket, they may discuss between each other as to who would get the best use out of it.

    That's all she Wrote:
If you have any questions, or think something has been missed, please leave a comment, we will try to make this as easy to understand as possible. There will also no doubt still be mistakes in the future, but we will always try to rectify them, and update this guide where possible.

    Thank you.
