    Not really hyped about it, but I will watch it since it is some form of Star Trek broadcast. Rather, the only form now.

    I'm actually pretty excited by the trailer. The most telling line, I think, is where Pike comments that they can have a little fun a long the way. I see that as a pretty obvious messaging to the audience that the tone will be a little less bleak this season. That will be a welcome adjustment, although I did truly enjoy the first season as well.

    Its an alright trailer, seems a bit Michael Bayish for my tastes in Star Trek. However it still doesn't wash away the taste of that first season for me, and the Orville's trailer just feels and looks more Star Trek than Disco......

    I'm going to give it a chance, I'm quite keen to see what they do with Pike as despite being an important character, he's still something of a blank slate in the wider universe.

    I've read as well (from Reddit) that the word is the Enterprise has been scaled up and the Discovery Constitution class is roughly the size of the Excelsior class. I don't know if that's got any official source or weight behind it, so take it with a pinch of salt.

    Sure that kinda works, except for there's no reason for Pike to comandeer a different starship under the pretext of a distress call. Surely if this situation were legit, Starfleet would just issue orders to the Discovery to aid and assist the Enterprise in the investigation of the anomalies. That way, Saru gets to keep his brand new captaincy and Pike gets the shiny science vessel to help him with the problem. My 2 cents.

    The next trailer should have more rock-pop music. That way it'll be closer linked to JJ-Trek.
