I KNOW RIGHT! IT'S GREAT!! I know a lot of people that have been wanting a T6 New Orleans (now a new Lafayette class) I have a Federation Engineer that I was going to buy a Miracle Work ship for, but those are so ugly I decided to wait. Now im glad that I did. New Orleans/Lafayette will be perfect for him... however I do feel bad that Romulan players wont get anything this round, at least not yet.

oh looking at the Lafayette pics, I really hope the saucer sep console works on it.. lol doubtful because the saucer sep console doesn't work on the Nebula class line but oh well, ill still buy it LOL

Blast and Damnation! Now I have to save up my Zen because well, New Orleans class! I'll be interested to see what the mission pods actually do because as far as I remember, there wasn't a canon explantion for them. Sure, everyone guessed that they were giant phasers or some other weapon but I don't recall anyone from the studio saying, "AHA! You got it all wrong, they're the ship's laundry, we just put it on the outside."

I'll wait for the stats but I'm a happy bunny right now.

Probably be along those lines, as it sounds like it's going to be a variant of the veteran heavy destroyers.

Perhaps wishful thinking on my part, but there could be a slim chance we'll see a 5/2 or even a 4/4 layout since it doesn't seem to have an integrated weapon that the heavies do, depending on exactly what that console is.

It says experimental weapon in the announcement:

... and Trinary Arrays console, whatever that is. Therefore, a forward focussed weapons layout like 5/3 seems to be likely.

I never expected a new ship out of the blue like that, nor the New Orleans of all things.

Looks like we might be getting the original canon model and the newer Lafayette version too? So we can mix n' match like the Miranda class?

As it sounds like the veteran destroyers a bit i'm guessing a tac heavy fast ship with a science slant on it? Cmdr Tac, lt Cmdr Sci, probably a pilot spec seat or intel?

If it's got an Experimental Weapon it won't be 5/3. Best you can hope for is 5/2, but be prepared for the possibility of 4/3.
