If this scaling ship prototype means we're revamping ships to be scaling... Find me in the alps, because this is nuts.

It might only be until 30, but with stats of a Captain ship, but DAMN.

Oh and you better believe there'll be an unlock to T6 down the road.

This is a really good idea I think, and it open up the way for similar mechanics and ideas in the future. Imagine a ship you stay with all the way to T6, playing out your whole story with one ship you'll grow to be part of? That's some cool character development there, the ship is your character as much as your avatar, why dump it every 10 levels!

And leading on from that...imagine a ship you get to customize as you and the ship level? Pick the console upgrades you want, the boff seats you want....now i'm feeling excited!

A: This ship comes with the Walker Class interior, like the T6 version of the ship.

I find it interesting they specified interior and not just bridge. Also confirms that those of use that purchased the T6 Lobi version will be getting the interior for free.

I picked up the Lobi T6 Walker specifically for the new Discovery character as I wasn't sure what all T6 Disco ships would be available. I had been holding off on buying one for my main wondering if I should get it or the Kelvin Intel Dreadnought. If a better T6 Disco ship comes along I may still sell the T6 Walker and get something else...

This is kind of cool to see scaling ships! I'd like to see or have the ability to scale up any ship all the way to T6, having the console, BOFF slots, weapon slots, and general stats increase as you level your character. It's a great idea as it lets you really fly the ship you want to fly. Want to fly the Sovereign from day 1 to day 99? Go for it. How about that Nova class? Sure, just let it scale up to T6. Still make Fleet versions a separate purchase.

Hmmh... I'm fine with the bundle only be claimable once, but what about the ship? It only says that the weapons can be reclaimed from the C-Store, so the scaling version of the Walker-class is only for the character who claims the bundle?

Word has it Kael confirmed the ship is account unlock and the Tardigrade pet & weapons can be claimed anywhere by all toons (at least all Fed toons).

Federation and federation aligned characters can fly the ship. So Romulans and Jem'Hadar as well.

We've updated a paragraph in the blog to make the rewards more clear. XP Boost and Inventory slots are bound to the first character who claims them. Tardigrade and Weapons are reclaimable. The ship is an account unlock.

This new variant of the Walker-class represents our first foray into the concept of a scaling starship. Available for use as soon as it can be purchased – as early as leaving the Tutorial – it will offer Hull and Shield values that continue to scale up with you as you continue your career. In this way, it offers you the choice to not need to trade out your ship until you are more comfortable with the game, and have a deeper understanding of what such an important choice means to your gameplay experience. This starship will scale in this manner until you reach Level 30, at which point it will be comparable to any other C-Store purchased Tier 4 vessel. (** Complete stats will be published at the end of this dev blog.)

The experience bonus and inventory slots may only be claimed once, and those items will be bound to the character that first claims it. However, the Discovery-era weapons and the vanity pet offered in this bundle may be reclaimed separately from the C-Store, affording your other characters the option of utilizing weapons that use the unique visuals recently seen on-screen. This special promotional weaponry is also designed to scale with you as you level up, until level 50 at which point it is roughly equivalent to a Mk XI item. You may continue to upgrade them beyond that point using Tech Upgrades in the same manner as other weaponry. The scalable Walker starship is an account unlock.

FYI the ship only scales to Level 30 Tier IV and has the Boff and Console - Layout of the T4 Galaxy Class so not really a good ship.

I mean, if you want a Discovery ship for leveling until level 30, it will do what it needs to do. ^^
