Hey all,

I know they updated the graphics for the Constitution Refit and Miranda a while back and made them T6 ships. Has Cryptic also updated the graphics for ships like the Excelsior-class, Lakota Refit, Galaxy, Galaxy-X Dreadnought etc, etc?

I remember I'd used to have to farm dilithium back in the day and convert it to money. Do you still have to do that? Is it easier to do now or does it still take forever?

I also started as a tactical captain. Is a tactical captain viable with cruisers? I probably put spec points where I don't need them too. Can I respec pretty easy?

In short: yes to updated graphics! Fly the Excelsior! I do

Dil to Zen still takes a while.

Tac + cruiser still works very well. Respec should be relatively easy as you get a free respec somewhere, but will need to buy more later. So, do some research before you commit to the respec.

I remember I earned the Ambassador-class on a special mission. But I knew if I came back, I'd use the Excelsior-class. I use it as my workhorse for Birth of the Federation and Star Trek Armada III. I prefer the Constitution Refit over the Excelsior aesthetically, but using the Excelsior brings back memories of seeing them in large fleets on DS9.

To date the following ships have been updated in terms of visuals to be more canon accurate:

Constitution, Miranda, Excelsior, Akira, Galaxy, Gal-X, Defiant, Intrepid, Prometheus, Sovereign, NX Class.

They all have a T6 version as well so can be used at endgame as well as in levelling.

That's good news. Looks like cryptic has really spent a lot of time improving the quality of textures on many of the ships.

I saw that. It was an interesting video. It's too bad we don't have a lot of tactical data on the Excelsior other than what we saw in TUC and one episode of DS9 where the Feds retook the Chin'toka system. We see the Melbourne's saucer getting disintegrated in BOBW and the same during the final battle on DS9. I guess we can assume the saucer was a weak point on the Excelsior. At least they seem more durable than the Miranda-class.
