Lot of you are misunderstanding my quote, "don't see the backlash for Nintendo switch or any of the previous handheld devices, which surprise, surprise it exactly like a mobile device" Its mobile you can move around take it on the bus, use it on airplane, you can go on top of a mountain, parks, sewers, ocean, and etc etc etc.

But this is exactly why I said you dont see the backlash. People categorize it completely different realm when its not. Sure app stores have games/apps that have microtrans all over them. But there are options where that isnt even a thing. You are now seeing them releasing games from previous generations onto these devices.

You are misunderstanding the type of game released, Diablo 3 on the Switch is a full, and proper title. Diablo Immortal, is not a full, and proper title, it is a mobile game, designed for a much different audience to that of the Diablo fan base, no one there wants a mobile grind game, they want more Diablo 3, or even Diablo 4, if they moved Diablo 3 to the mobile, then there would be less backlash than this. It's a cash grab title, that's all it is, that is why there is backlash.

Where are you getting I'm comparing release of d3 on switch? I dont care about d3... I thought it was horrible rendition of the franchise, so will this mobile game probably (hehe). I'm only talking about mobile game backlash. I just dont see it as bad idea like others are. I feel its a great idea to expand audience. Sorry you all feel like I should follow the crowd and join. Because your argument seems to compare the backlash from this announcement of Diablo Immortal to the lack of backlash to announcements on the Switch, when it's not the same situation at all, and is a poorly formed argument. The reason there is backlash for Diablo Immortal is because it's ♥♥♥♥, pay to win, garbage, contracted to a company which is known to just reskin games.

It will get an audience with mobile uses, that's what makes it a cash grab, but announcing it at Blizzcon, the flagship convention for Blizzard, with people who are not interested in this kind of game, is going to get a lot of backlash. It's like if I go to vegan festival, and announce that I am going to be releasing a new type of dairy chocolate, they would hate me for it, rightfully so, they aren't the audience but I would have an audience. I would also be dumb to say to them, on a stage "You guys have mouths right?", as if that justifies my product.

No one is trying to crucify you, but you don't seem to understand what people are saying about the backlash.

Is it a bad idea to make a mobile Diablo game? No worse than any other idea really, they are a business, trying to make money.
Is it a bad idea to hype it up to your core fans? Yes, awful idea, and shows that you are out of touch with your fanbase.

I didn't even try to make argument or a point to the argument. Everyone else is making this assumption not me. When I made statement " dont see the problem with mobile games." It's obvious I'm talking about mobile games and that's it. My first sentience was the summary of this entire debacle. You can declare like many others that I dont understand but I do. Everyone else is going all over the place, which I might add is super confusing. Now, if you go reread all my statements they are only referring to mobile gaming, which I know many wont. I honestly dont care about switch or any other handheld device I simply making a comparison, which is obviously disagreed upon by many. Anywho, this is my last statement on this thread. Enjoy.

Blizzard will likely make a lot of money from this mobile game, but putting it as a major announcement is a bit of a letdown.

The backlash is exceedingly understandable, and Blizzard's manglement is truly out of touch.

This was an event that people paid hundreds of dollars to attend - these are hardcore fans, and these are all PC or console gamers. Who again, paid something like two or three hundred dollars to be there.

Ridiculous, to announce a casual mobile game at a convention where your hardcore PC and console gamers paid to be.
