Hey fleeties,

the annual Black Friday sales is inbound so my question is what I should get for my hard earned zen?

the setup:
main account: has LTS, 4x fed ferengi, others are/will be kdf aligned jem'hadar
alt account: no LTS (F2P), 1x fed ferengi, 1x fed jem'hadar, others are/will be kdf aligned jem'hadar
general playstile: working all chars up to t6 rep for the dil, then play on main chars

My must haves:
main/alt: elite starter pack (basically a must even for lts)
main: 1x doff slots for the 4 ferengi (other chars maybe also in the future but no hurry)

My ideas:
main/alt: vandal destroyer for the plasmo leech console (would that still be worth it after the nerf of max 7,5 all power?)
main/alt: current promo items like 20key box or R&D boxes to sell for EC and buy TR-116B rifles as usable on all chars when working on them
alternative: sell unused ZEN and rebuy zen on next phoenix event

The thing that is almost universally recommended is the "T6 Battlecruiser Bundle", that covers the Arbiter, Kurak, and Morrigu. Great ships all around, and the trait they offer is top-notch.

Re: plasmonic leech, I still find it useful sometimes, but these days it's more likely to "lose its seat" than it was back in the day. I mean, that's still a total of +30 power across all systems. If you don't need it, great.

Like Generator said the battlecvruiser pack is normally recommended. I don't own it though it by all accounts is excellent.
Also the Temporal ship cross-faction pack is pretty good as it gives you 3 ships for any toon, any faction. And they are all a bit different so something for everyone there.

Honestly i'd hold off on a leech based purchase unless you absolutely need/want it. We have a tonne of those in the fleet bank shop if you want one for a Fed toon.

My knock on the 31st Century pack is that the ships don't look like Trek ships, y'know? Great performance, awful aesthetics.

Yeah totally agree on that front. I don’t fly them beyond grabbing the trait for that very reason. I only own them as they came from the big pack.
But as a fully cross faction set there’s nothing better.

Personally i had on my list for further checking:
gamma vanguard pack (7x t6 ships)
t6 battlecruiser set for trait (bit expensive though)
temporal sci bundle (would be interesting for a mega well setup!)

I'll grab the elite starter pack and the doff slots.
With the ships I'll wait until the next 30% flash sale.

Thanks for the offer with plasmo. on my main fed ferengi's I already have them and on the alt account I won't get them for the feds.

Next on my list are promo R&D packs or 20p keys to sell for EC so I can get epic TR-116B rifles, epic crafted ship turrents/tac consoles usable on all chars and then the ship packs.

Your call, but the difference between a 25% and 30% discount on ships isn't a ton, IMO. If you know a ship you want, now really is as good a time as any.

traits (with T6 ships) will come and go so they are my least priority.

I'll even try to get 2 cell ships to use on each account first

As long as I don't have epic mk xv gear on ships there is no use to fly some fancy ships (even if they would provide nice traits).
Lets see what the winter and anniversary ships will be and then I'll still be able to decide if those bundles would be still worth it.
Rumor has it that we get a T6 Fek'hiri warpship

30% on 15k zen are only 10.500 zen while 25% would cost 12.750 so that's 1250 zen difference.

Also, these is a Zen charge sale at the same time, so you might actually save more money that way assuming you haven't ground out the zen with dil already.
Oh and they will probably have a sale on the cash bought packs on the Arc site itself, last year they were a whopping 70% off i think. That was, in the case of the Temporal Pack for example, 11 ships and some other goodies for only £35 - an absolute steal.

One thing i would point out though, you really do not need Epic Mk XV gear on any ship to fly it and do well. The upgrade system is a way to improve gear yes, but it is more of a long term goal and absolutely not required to race ahead and get everything to max as soon as possible. Don't ever feel pressured into needing high end gear at max rarity to be able to fly a ship. Pick a ship you like and fly it how you want to; as long as you enjoy it that is all that matters.

most important is to have fun in a game. high end gear makes it alot easier then getting blown to pieces even in normal TFO from some torp spreads from NPC.

I'll grab some 20p key bundles and try to get 2x suliban cell ships to have one on each account. will be also useful if commodities are needed for holding projects.

I'll have to test out something before I unpack them but after that I'll be open for business

I bought the Hec pack and the Resolute, I did umm and argh on it though as the top up I added put me in the market for the mega bundle packs and I have none them so was tempted but seeing as i couldnt decide stuck with my initial plan and bought what i had planned on getting the next time i topped up, i now also have some zen on account for the next time i want something now also
