COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

• This will be my final outing as the “Editor-in-Chief” of the Academy News! My successor Enlistednut09 has taken over as the Deputy Commandant of Starfleet Academy. A member of the UFP for over three years, Enlistednut09 has been on the Academy staff for an extended period, most recently as the Recruitment Coordinator.
  
• Following on from this we now have a new Recruitment Coordinator – T’Tan has previously served as both the CO and XO of the Academy so he is bringing his knowledge of the division to oversee our recruitment operations on other forums.

Congratulations to both of you – it’s nice to see the Academy in safe hands!

UFP would not be the place it is today without our volunteers who selflessly sacrifice their time to help out. Check out the currently open volunteer positions, and how to apply for one, here.

UPCOMING EVENTS

You can sign up for any of these events here:

• Warcraft III: Wednesday 9th January at 00:30 GMT/UFP; this event is for any player who is looking to play with friends for Warcraft III. There is now a 24 player limit in any single game so should more than 24 people attend we will split into multiple sessions (matching levels as best we can). It is advised to have the Frozen Throne because without it you may be unable to join us since many maps require the expansion. We will be playing Custom Campaign maps. I have come across a Co-Op Campaign Maps of the Original Campaigns in an Archon-Mode style game play.
• Lord of The Rings Online: “Join The Fellowship”, join us on the Laurelin server every Wednesday evening at 19:30 GMT/UFP until late as we complete deeds, level characters, complete group content or just chill for a drink in The Prancing Pony.
• Overwatch (PS4): Thursday 10th January at 00:00 GMT/UFP time; This event is for any player who is looking to play Overwatch. We will be playing selected Heroes/Skins of our own choosing, so show off your favourite.
• Star Wars The Old Republic: Thursday 10th January at 19:00 GMT/UFP time; this event is dedicated to help out the Guild Invasion effort. In this event we shall be doing the conquests objectives to earn points towards our invasion. Earning the minimum amount of points needed rewards you with Credits, Command Points, Crafting materials, and scrap.
• Starcraft II: Friday 11th January at 00:30 GMT/UFP; this event is for any player of Starcraft II who is looking for campaign advice, CO-OP, Ladder Play, or just friends to play Arcade with. There is a 4-player limit in any single game so should more than 4 people attend we will split into multiple sessions (matching levels as best we can). It is advised to have the Legacy of the Void, but if not you can have you join a Party with me and have you use spawning for LotV.
• Stellaris: Friday 11th January at 19:00 GMT/UFP time; this event will be a multi-hour session of Stellaris. We will be starting a new Multiplayer game following the release of the latest MegaCorp DLC and will be playing cooperatively against AI opponents. This save will be continued at the same time every week, until we have completed the end game crisis, or by unanimously deciding to start over by all participants.

It is highly recommended that you keep one eye on the events page whenever you visit the site because random events are always popping up there.
