    Latest patch has broken binding on items. There are reports that even buying items from the exchange will bind them to you. Recommend you don't buy any exchange items or open any boxes until they've done an emergency patch to resolve this issue.

    Yup, absolutely follow this advice and do not buy or pick up anything that you don't already have in your inventory or bank.

    In fact i'd not even move anything within your inventory/bank right now just in case it's a wider problem.

    Roger that. Seems like this is A. A mass exchange boycott with a rumour that catches like wild fire or B. The item status owners are being modified to restrict the re-sell ability to items. (Which would not be that bad... Unless you're a ferengi who sells high and buys low).

    No the event ship should be fine as it unlocks an account wide claim anyway and the ship itself is in a box that's already character bound so can;t be traded anyway.

    UPDATE!

    So it appears the bug is limited to items that come from boxes you must open to get the item out (lockbox rewards, training manuals, kit modules, reward boxes from Q's event etc.) and also seems to include crafting materials from scanning anomalies, possibly Omega particle rewards too?.

    At the moment it appears the exchange is not the problem here with items binding, just that is where its most obvious as many people first pick up items there.
    There does however appear to be a bug of sorts with exchange bought items vanishing when bought; could be related or maybe not.

    In about fifty minutes, PC servers will briefly boot all players online. This reset should fix the recent issue with tradeable items suddenly become bound to character. Unfortunately, it won't retroactively fix items that are already bound-please contact support to get those items unbound.

    Yeah, the did the reboot last night for it not sure if it's fixed it ain't actually looked yet though game has seemed a lil more stable also since they did it.
