It's not the color I'm really worried about, we have three sets of phasers with almost identical looks and sounds....just be nice to see something different, and since there is actually something different in the show I would be bummed if we got a fourth similar set.

Normally I'd be a little miffed about "more lockboxes," but since the whole Section 31 motif is what fits the lore of my characters, I am actually pretty stoked for this.

I must say that Cryptics marketing team is doing a good job with this Knowing the difficulty to aquire this new ship and all the toys in this lockbox, and knowing the fact that its not really something one needs for anything really. Well I assume the video was either what the ship is naturally equipped with or what the people making the movie equipped

So maybe it's possible the weapons in the box will be different

I picked up a set of the covert phasers on the cheap and even managed to get lucky with the omni variant to try them out. They sound like the phasers the Enterprise used in the series finale except they are indeed red and are a solid rather than pulsed beam.

Why they're red I've no idea, the S31 ships had the same phasers as the Enterprise and in both cases they were blue.

The S31 Lobi pistol is quite nice too, though I can't vouch for the high level performance yet as I'm using it on my new engineering toon so it's still in scaling mode. Fires very quickly and has an effect similar to a full auto rifle for the secondary fire.

I don't quite get it either, I guess maybe because we already have TOS phasers they figured they wouldn't give us another set so very similar? But at the same time we got agony phasers....which are the exact same as standard TNG phases except for the proc.
