    Hey guys, wanted your opinion on this. I've got all geared up, got everything to max epic, got layers upon layers of cat 1 and 2 phaser buffs, but am still hitting 45k ish dps on average. And since I've slowed down and added anchored, it's got even worse. Debating pedal to the metal instead, but still...

    The only thing I haven't done is the reputation and mastery traits, of which I only have three relatively useless rep traits. However my mastery traits are good ,and I recently added emergency weapon cycle to my traits.

    So, thing is, why is it so low. My feeling is it's either my client being super laggy (even with 9 ping and 200fps, it's still rubberbanding constantly), or it's how I'm targeting (I just constantly activate my weapons, and use the auto lock on mechanic). Not sure which it is, but anyone who has an idea about it please let me know. Cheers!

    As Bridger would say, It's not just the gear, it's the User too.

    gear is only part of the equation, you just have to get used to timing/when to use skills and such =)

    Yes, don't worry I know I'm not the best pilot. But I hope I'm not so horrific as to reduce my potential DPS by about 50k. This build theoretically (at least in my head) should easily do close to 100k. So it's either my piloting, or my client. I'm never going to get close to the potential DPS, but I'd like to get closer than around 40% of the potential

    The duplicate ability cooldown for RSP is 1 minute, but you're running Aux to Batt with Techs. How could you possibly not have a single copy down to 1 minute? For that matter, you shouldn't need RSP that much anyway!

    I have to say, this is not an "amazing build". A "build" refers primarily to the BOff layout and supporting DOffs. Nobody ever actually talks about gear because it's mostly irrelevant, while your BOff abilities define everything a ship can do. It's like 90% of performance.
    (Irrelevant in the sense that there's nothing to talk about. Epic Mk XVs are best, duh. Consoles that support the weapons, yeah. That's basically every ship at the end.)

    You have one torpedo launcher and Torp Spread 3, but 7 beam arrays and only Fire At Will 1.
    What the heck, no Tac Team either.
    What's the point of Polarize Hull? Over Hazard Emitters or Science Team, even.
    I dunno, man. You're probably better off just dumping the torpedo and picking up the Trilithium set (haste bonus), switching TS3 for FAW3 and Tac Team for FAW1.

    Wait, I just noticed your LCdr Eng is actually a Uni seat. Is that just for a second copy of RSP?

    Ok, thanks. This is exactly what I needed. I was trying to identify what was wrong, and this is obviously it. Back in the day, gear was THE thing that determined your damage (at least as far as I remember). Although, to be fair, I'm only looking into high end stuff now, almost a decade later, so it could just be I wasn't aware in the first place.

    I clearly have no idea what to do, as any doff and boff stuff seemed minor to me. If anyone could shed light on how to improve that end of things, it would be awesome!

    As for specifics:
    Polarize hull, this used to be the defacto thing to take into ISA STF's, as it negated their stupid shield drain thing.
    Honestly, I think another FAW3 would be good. This is the least optimised part of the build, as I was still under the impression gear was more important.
    Also, yep, a glaring omission. No point in Reverse Shield polarity twice over. The 'Oh S**t button' only works once in a while after all. Any suggestions on what to swap it for. I suppose I could put aux to bat into that slot intead, and swap the entire Boff out from the universal seat...?

    Just as an update, finally think I've figured out what the cause of the lower than expected damage output is. It's weapon power.

    I should be rolling in power, my EPS is at 381.63%. Yet I fire my first salvo, and it takes it straight down to 64 power within the first couple of salvos. I admit it's extremely hard to visually see the end of salvoes (I'm using the pulse phasers, and they 'pulse', making you think the salvo has ended). But going solely off the weapon fire cooldown numbers, it's only about 2 or three salvoes and I'm down to that. Even more strangely is that the power then jumps straight back up to 125 for a short while, before repeating this.

    Now this could be normal behaviour (I've never really dealt with the power mechanics, aside from "shove everything to weapons"), but why does it take so long for my power to jump back up? It's not every second or whatever, its around every 10 or more seconds for power to return. Am I being just really stupid and missing something...

    Also, regardless of the cause, I still need to fix this power issue. Does anyone have anyy thoughts on the plasmonic leech console, and/or other similar methods of maintaining power?

    EDIT: Just tested again, using a build that was doing around 18k before I noticed the power issues. Jumped up to 48.17k. WOW. Just the power...I know it's important, but didn't realise the extent of the problem. Just adding plasmonic leech and switching in a RCS accelerator with EPS. Was probably a good run as well, but still...Definitely a power problem.

    Most high end builds use A2B and Emergency Weapon Cycle Combo, but if you have it you could put the Priors World Elite Defense Satellite on that should help you.
