Al Rivera was on Priority One Podcast this week. He confirmed that Age of Discovery has a couple of more episodes left that will wrap up the arc. After that they will return to 2410 and continue with the Return of Discovery Arc with Captain Killy and J'ula being the focus. They have the next 1.5 years planned out.

Also of note, Victory is Life set new records for both returning players and bringing in new players. The Discovery Arcs broke those records.

They will continue to parallel content with Discovery Season 3, Picard, Section 31, and the two animated shows.

He also said that if they would have done all of this as a Discovery expansion then it would have meant a year without new content and the expansion would be about what we got anyways.

Additional updates

- Rep revamp coming possibly next year.
- Al does not feel there are too many and releasing 1 per year is reasonable.
- Looking at unlocking reps earlier in player progression (before level 50, lining up with where they fit in the story arc) to start projects sooner making it easier for new players to complete all of the reps
- Items are not supposed to be immediate, happy with the amount of time it takes to complete a rep
- AL wants to redo a lot of the old TFOs, especially the Borg content

Or we're getting a type of exploration again, finally. Which would also be a significant group of people.

I think the should add a reputation that you can build from level one, something like ordinance or that. It would just grant a unique look and feel, and be more cosmetic based than actually better than the normal stuff you could get.

I actually like the fact they're working on revamping the story arcs, I just wish they'd do more to tie together the progression so that new players don't feel so "lost" in engaging with the game. (AKA "What do I do now?")

TFO's are OK, I suppose- but I really do think bringing back more of the "wonder" via Exploration elements back to this game is where it's at- instead of pewpew focus. I mean, they took a theme that's based on space exploration (Star Trek) and have steadily worked toward eliminating everything about exploration in favor of combat missions. Not a very sustainable path for the future of the theme itself, IMO.

MEGA Make Exploration Great Again. Give us some exploration based episode arcs, restorative activities like what they did with New Romulus (recreating a society and infrastructure while working on defending it) since there's plenty of "combat focused" activities already. Hell, we've got 14 gazillion reputation grinds now, I'm sure there's something they can integrate with new episodic arcs to earn Marks for those reps, keeping people engaged in something other than destruction. (usually starships)

Meanwhile, I'd also like to see more introduced on a higher level for large fleet content- TFO's that incorporate larger fleets like this one so that we can get more functions together. Can you imagine something like "Ragnarok" but on a fleet sized episodic basis? Groups of players engaging in ship/ground battles together on larger scales. That sort of thing. I guess you could call them "Fleet Episodes". Basically what other games call "raids".

IMO, there's more than enough "casual" content already, and the chasing the squirrel thing only lasts for so long- it's not at all a sustainable path for the game as a whole. I'm an LTS player that has a full time job and RL responsibilities too- but as the saying goes, if it's important enough to you, you'll make time.
