Greetings All! Welcome to the Twelfth Edition of the 2019 Academy News! I am Michael Deputy Commandant of Starfleet Academy. This newsletter is an initiative from the Academy that is intended to keep you abreast of the latest news from across the United Federation of Planets.

SAVE THE DATE
The 54th United Federation of Planets Awards Ceremony (UFPAC) will be held on Saturday the 21st of December, at 21:30 UFP time.

This event is held roughly every three months and awards members with rank advancements and medals which are awarded for various achievements. To get a promotion and/or a medal you need to be active on the forums or in game, attending events and participating in forum discussions. Then you stand a good chance of getting noticed and receiving a nomination for an award from one of the CL6, CL5 or CL4 members of the UFP.

  The UFP would not be the place it is today without our volunteers who selflessly sacrifice their time to help out. Check out the currently open volunteer positions, and how to apply for one, here.

UPCOMING EVENTS
The United Federation of Planets has a good number of events coming up! You can sign up for any of these events here:

• AGE OF EMPIRES II: DEFINITIVE EDITION:
  Tuesday, 17th December at 1900 GMT/UFP; Quartermaster Seapanda We will be playing the remake of the above named game, Age of Empires II: Remastered. There are several mods that are currently being used in the game, and new members who join the event will be able to either subscribe to the mods (graphical mods) or we will revert back to the default game.
  
  A custom defense map is currently being used, where all players face off against increasingly more difficult AI. For the time being, the teams will be locked, to prevent people like me turning on you lot Smile Later on, as this event grows, we will ask for feedback and look into different maps and game modes.
  
  
• COMPANY OF HEROES 2:
  Wednesday, 18th December at 1900 GMT/UFP; Executive Officer Bedders Greetings fellow Generals!
  
  Tonight we team up to grind our opponents under our treads, shoot them out of the skies, and generally wreck their day.
  
  
• STAR WARS THE OLD REPUBLIC:
  Thursday, 19th December at 0200 GMT/UFP; Event Officer Michael Greetings fellow Commanders (or ex-Commanders)!
  
  This event is help those active to get their weekly (daily) grinds done together! It's a lot more enjoyable to get the weekly stuff done together to grind out your reknown to 300 on multiple characters, if you're playing with friends.
  
  
• STAR TREK ONLINE:
  Thursday, 19th December at 2000 GMT/UFP; Special Forces Commander Solace Greetings members! Welcome to Pre-UFPAC Special Forces! Don't worry everybody is welcome to attend! This upcoming event, we'll be grinding out marks, accolades, doing Elite content or just grouping up for some jolly cooperation! (Praise the sun!)
  
  We'll be meeting on DS9 next the shipyard/exchange. Level 50+ character will be required! See you all there!
  
  
• STAR TREK ONLINE: (time slot 1)
  Friday, 20th December at 2000 GMT/UFP; SFA Executive Officer Michael Once the tour is done feel free to join us for some TFOs/Heroics (depending on which game we're in).
  
  This event will be reoccurring each week in a series of "Tour The Holdings" events that will encompass all the current fleet holdings for the STO Federation, KDF & SWTOR Republic & Sith, one holding randomly selected per week.

• WARFRAME:
  Saturday, 21st December at 1900 GMT/UFP; Quartermaster Seapanda For the duration of this event, depending on the attendance and on site requirements, we will be able to farm those sweet Relics, unlock nodes and planets, hunt for Warframe parts, materials, blueprints and anything else we can think of. We can also set a weekly/monthly challenge on completing certain stages of the famous endless missions, advise on builds (the ones that know their stuff, not me), and even hunt down the big creatures of the plains.
  
  
• STAR TREK ONLINE:
  Saturday, 21st December at 2000 GMT/UFP; Federation Executive Officer Sammygm It is once again time for another UFPAC, and this time it's 54th UFPAC!
  
  Due to it almost being Christmas this event will take place in Winter Wonderland. As usual we'll be gather together to take a fleet photo (Which can be found here). To spice things up I will allow members to wear a festive attire if you so desire, outside of that I would still like to ask if you do not have a festive attire to turn up with the UFP Fleet Uniform. If you're a member of our Armada, you are allowed to turn up in your fleet's uniform.
  
  
• STAR TREK ONLINE:

• 54th AWARD CEREMONY DECEMBER 2019:
  Saturday, 21st December at 2130 GMT/UFP;
  
  The UFPAC is the United Federation of Planets Award Ceremony.
  
  The event is held roughly every 3 months and awards members with rank advancements, as well as medal achievements. It is also used as an opportunity to announce important events or discussions within the UFP and allows members at the end of the event to have the floor should they wish to bring any subject forward with the community.

• SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE:
  Sunday, 22nd December at 1300 GMT/UFP; Event Officer Lars2510 This event will be a multi-hour session of Sins Of A Solar Empire Rebellion, using the brilliant Ages Of Federation mod, bringing the game into Star Trek. It is set during the period between Star Trek: Enterprise and Stsr Trek: The Original Series, shortly after the formation of the Federation and during the first Klingon War.
  
  

It is highly recommended that you keep one eye on the events page whenever you visit the site because random events are being added all the time!
