"Anniversary X"

Highlights of the "Anniversary X" Event:

• Begins 28 JAN 2020 and ends 27 FEB 2020 for PC.

○ Console dates are 'to be announced'.
• Event progress moves to the Events tab.
• Progress must be made for 20 days to complete.

○ 20 progress tokens earns the Khitomer Class [T6] ship (Account unlock).
○ There will be a sliding buyout for Zen.
• The daily event is the Omega Particle Stabilization mini-game.

○ Collect Omega Traces of three colors (Red, Blue, and Yellow)
○ Use the R&D Special Projects menu to combine Omega Traces to make Omega Slivers.
○ Use the R&D Special Projects menu to combine Omega Slivers to make Omega Shards.
○ Use the R&D Special Projects menu to combine Omega Shards to make Omega Fragments.
○ Use the R&D Special Projects menu to combine Omega Fragments to make Omega Tech Upgrades.

- 81 of each Omega Trace are required to make 1 Omega Tech Upgrade.
○ There are two new R&D Special Projects:

- Combine 2 Omega Fragments and Refined Dilithium to make a [MARK] focused Omega Tech Upgrade.
- Combine 2 Omega Fragments and Refined Dilithium to make a [RARITY] focused Omega Tech Upgrade.
○ Omega Traces, Slivers, Shards, and Fragments are now Account-Bound and cannot be traded or sold on the Exchange.

- Drop rates for Omega Traces will be upped slightly as compensation.
• New "Anniversary X" Party Popper!

○ Using the "Anniversary X" Party Popper will activate a previous Party Popper effect. SURPRISE! Fun for the whole family!
• New Emotes

○ Dance (Disco)
○ Tea, Earl Grey
○ Evil Plans
○ Organian Greeting
○ Ta-dah!
○ All of the previous Anniversary emotes will be available.

- Emote packs will be awarded with the completion of the Omega Stabilization Daily Event.

And that's about it.

I wonder did they bind them already? I think I should try and sell the leftovers I have from last year if they don't lol

The rarity upgrade kits may be interesting, I've got full epic on my main but I've a few others at MK 15 that could use a bit of patching up. I just haven't decided if I can be bothered to grind Omega this year!

As far as I know, they are NOT bound until the event starts. I just bought a couple hunnerd Blues and Yellows (Reds are just too expensive). But I did not check to see if I could resell them. Let me see if they are bound yet.

It doesn't say that they are... yet.

And it may turn out that only NEW Omega Traces are Account-Bound and that the old ones will always be tradable.

This is a nice addition. Gear, on way or another, will be upgraded to MK XV. Rarity is the tough part, especially outside upgrade weekends.

I've just seen on Reddit that the anniversary episode will feature ties to all the previous live action Treks and then tie back into STO. There's some speculation that they might have an actor from each series voicing a character, but take that part with a pinch of salt, if not a shovel.

It was tweeted by Borticus, I wouldn't be surprised if J'Ula is up to here old time travel shenanigans again xD
