    General:
    • Resolved an issue that could prevent some players from purchasing the Picard Bundle.
    • Resolved an issue that would prevent completion of the “Khitomer in Stasis” TFO.
    • Borg enemies should now consistently beam out after dying in all cases.

    UI:
    • Updated the Ship Vendor UI:
    ○ The ship vendor now shows information about scaling for ships that scale with your level.
    + For those ships, the ship vendor now displays hitpoints at multiple levels.
    ○ The ship vendor info section now shows if a ship can use dual cannons, has an experimental weapon slot, or has a secondary deflector slot.
    ○ For starships that come with a mastery path, the ship vendor now shows that mastery path, as well as your current progress in that ship's mastery (if any).
    • Updated the Ship Drydock UI:
    ○ For ships with a mastery path, the Drydock UI now tells you if you have completed the mastery on that ship or not.
    • Resolved an issue where starship base hitpoints would be displayed incorrectly for some starships while on ground maps.
    • Added additional messaging for purchase requirements at lower levels when attempting to make a purchases where the requirements had not been met.
    • Added additional messaging for equip requirements when attempting to equip an item that is not allowed to be equipped.

    Ships:
    • Minor visual updates to the Galaxy-class Exploration Cruiser and Galaxy-class Dreadnought.

    Systems:
    • The Kelvin Timeline Heavy Command Cruiser [T6] can now use any of the standard Federation bridges, in addition to the "Kelvin Constitution" interior.

    Known issue:
    • The description of the new starship trait in the text block for 9 of the 10 new ships within the new 10th Anniversary Legendary Starship Bundle, is incorrect in the Ship Vendor.
    ○ The correct description of these starship traits can be viewed by mousing over the Starship Trait the new Ship Mastery component of the Ship Vendor.

    Nice, more quality of life updates....and kind of depressing that the devs readily admit the new bundle is partly broken before the patch to add it even drops.

    Im intrigued by the "minor update to the Galaxy model" could be. I mean, the revamp is already glorious, and not quite sure what was wrong or missing from the current one in game. Either way, nice QoL improvements in the patch.

    The only thing I know is broken are the nav lights on the saucer, they are red on both sides and maybe they update the defelctor.

    The recent QoL improvements are really nice, a trend I hope to see continue.

    Part of me reckons that STO would be an absolute bastard to code now, ten years of code by different people, probably not commented properly in parts meaning that it's like trying to untangle spaghetti without breaking anything.

    That said, odd there's an issue at the ship vendor for the new legendary ships. However, I hardly ever use it given that you can get ships just by clicking "claim" in the C-Store window.

    That's pretty much exactly what it's like and they've admitted to that in the past. None of the original devs are still there on the project (as best I as I can recall) and the older coding in the engine is not properly understood. It's believed that the nightmare coding is what did the Foundry in as it broke after every patch and it was easier to just dump it from the client rather than find a permanent fix.

    There has been other things that people have asked for that, on the face of it, seem like they'd be fairly simple - relatively speaking - to implement. But the general answer to those queries is that the sheer amount of work involved to get it done isn't worth the time and effort.

    Yeah, as sad as it was to see the Foundry go I totally understand why they felt it was necessary at this point. To put so much dev time into a feature that's going to break after the next update seems a bit pointless. Best to ditch the entire thing and start from scratch.

    In fact, if STO as a product is to continue past the ten year mark PWE would do well to consider letting Cryptic start work on an over haul of the game, or even a "sequel" of sorts. New game engine, better foundations to grow on into the future. A bit like with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Essentially an entirely new game.

    Sadly, STO has always suffered from the frankly ridiculous development cycle it started with. I believe it was 18 months they were given to create the game from the ground up, hence why everything looked like utter dogshit at the beginning. Just think back to what the Galaxy class looked like, it was barely recognisable. Everything had been rushed, very little care or pride taken in the modelling or art. With such poor foundations, it's no wonder Cryptic have struggled to make certain changes over the years. Customisable warp and transporter effects for example, they would like to do it (cosmetic stuff like that is a big seller in games) but it's just going to take so much dev time to unpick and figure out the code behind it.

    The fact STO is in the position it is today, the quality of the content etc speaks volumes for the devs dedication. It's easy to hate on Cryptic, however they've done a frankly superb job of fleshing out and improving this game from its initial launch.
