    Hey all,

Anyone know how to modify the weapons hardpoints on ships for Star Trek Legacy PC. I see in the ship .odf files that (for example), phasers are associated with hp01, hp02, hp03, etc.. but how can you know where hp01 is on the model and what the firing arc is?

There are ships that I want to change the number of weapons and their placement/firing arcs but I don't know how.

    Any info would be helpful...

    Thx...

    Chris,

Yes, the video you found explains how to modify the hardpoints and is what I was looking for. The only problem I'm having is the fact that I don't know where to get the .ms3d files for MilkShape3D... There is an m3d folder in my legacy install that has a ton of .m3d files but when I try to open one in Milkshape (say f_galaxy.m3d) I don't see anything. I've never used MilkShape before so idk if I have to import the .m3d files or not. When select import, it gives a TON of import types...

Anyone know anything about MS3D? Where can I get the .ms3d files for the various models within Legacy?

Again, I've no idea if this is anything close to what you need but have you looked at this?

Yea, that's the standalone tool that now comes within the LMT suite... I have a decent understanding after watching various youtube vids how to modify and or create hardpoints, what I don't understand is how to get the ship model for MilkShape 3D. Milkshape wants to open a .ms3d file for the model however I can't find these in my Star Trek Legacy directory. The only thing I can find is a folder called M3D that has .m3d files for each of the ships, stations, etc... Milkshape won't open these if I try to open them with milkshape and I don't know if I need a special import file or what. I've reached out to Chris Jones of Chris Jones Gaming (Creator of the Ultimate Universe Mod for Legacy) like a month ago and never get any replies.... I've done google searches about opening .m3d files, importing m3d files, etc.. and haven't gotten very far.

I really appreciate the info you've provided so far. It has been very helpful. I just hope I can figure out or someone can clue me in on how to get ahold of the milkshape files for the models.
