Building the Daedalus Class BC-304

I always wanted to create a 3D Model of one of Scifi Hero Ships that are out there and print them is a large scale, like the Enterprise-E, Galactica, White Star or the Daedalus. A big problem until now has been the cost of 3D-Printers that can print in the quality I want but that has changed now and I started a project to create a high quality model of the Daedalus Class from Stargate.

Unfortunately I am not a 3D Modeler so I hired chrisbibby over at CG-Trader who has already created some incredibly models for 3D Printing and I got outstanding help from Eaglesg without him this project would not be possible.

In the mean time, chrisbibby has left the project to focus on other projects and a new modeler Flaredphoenix is in.

Once the model is finished I will print it and you will be able to follow my progress and my setbacks in this thread, and with this you can take a look at the printer I am going to buy and the first work done on the model.

The planned dimension of the model will be:

Scale: 1/700

Length: 105,14cm = 41,39"
Width: 53,14cm = 20,92"
Hight: 22cm = 8,66"

92cm? holy cow that's amazing! That's gonna take (does quick calculation) a metric tonne of spray paint!

That's awesome. The Daedalus battlecruisers are cool, especially after the upgrades from the Asgard are given to the SGC
