EVENT - STO TRIBUTE GATHERING

Hi all,

We've created an event for the STO gathering being organized game-wide tomorrow. You can RSVP to it by clicking HERE

We should all get rebreathers from the Mission: "What's Left Behind". You only need to run it until you beam down to the outpost. Once there, you can pick up the rebreather(s) and exit the mission.

From the posts I read - they haven't really said to wear a particular uniform. Just to wear the best medical uniform you can make in Star Trek with their assets! I'm personally going for Picard.

I wanted a Doctor McCoy style uniform (TOS), but found that the short sleeve medical tunic was skin tight. I used a long sleeve tunic instead. I did use the medical insignia (red cross), although in TOS McCoy wears a science department insignia.

To be clear, I wasn't saying people had to wear those particular uniforms I was just offering a couple suggestions and saving people the trouble of having to go searching for the odyssey medical color codes. Obviously there are other medical uniforms besides the two I posted.

Too bad we can't bring away team to DS9, we could have a bunch of Doctor, McCoy and Bashir holograms running around.

It's good that Cryptic did something like this even if it probably went mostly unnoticed by the larger playerbase. It's a nice thing to see that some people at least appreciate the work we do, although with so many people breaking lockdown advice and going to parks or even protesting (!!!) it feels like people really don't understand how dangerous this situation is. It's even worse when you know that you're putting your own health at risk, and maybe your family just by going into work and trying to help those who need it.

Many of you will notice that I've been conspicuously absent in recent weeks, mainly because of trying to complete my studies and working in my job in the hospital. It's been tough and I've honestly been questioning how I can even think of completing this degree with things as they are.

Yesterday was probably on of the worst day so far though, a well known healthcare assistant in the hospital sadly died from COVID-19 and one of the nurses on my own ward is critically ill on ECMO in ITU. It's touch and go to whether she will make it or not.

So, please follow official guidance from your relevant health authorities. Stay at home, wash your hands and be safe. I hope you're all well and hopefully will catch up when this is all over.
