HoL = House of Lords, just thought I should clarify that otherwise the title would have been looooong xD
Recently The House of Lords Committee published a report on the harm caused by gambling and it cites Loot Boxes in games as a direct cause to harm created by problem gambling or loot boxes being used to exploit problem gambling tendencies. The HoL has called on the U.K Government to extend gambling legislation to cover loot boxes allowing them to be regulated.
The report also stresses that the U.K's Gambling Act doesn't need to be changed to give our government the power to regulate them as the act already provides the necessary powers to do so.
