I'm using a few things to keep my threat level as low as possible so that i don't draw tons of aggro which exotic dps ships tend to do.

Threat Control - Skill Tree perk
-100% threat when not in threatening stance.

Innocuous - Personal trait
+5% Crit Sev.
-25% Threat Generation

Strike from Shadows
When damaging a foe that doesn't have you targeted:
-60% threat gen
+5% Crit chance
+5% bonus all damage

So when I'm in combat that adds up to a total of -185% threat gen (Sneaky snek nebby ) plus I've got casual reversion which gives better healing the more foes affected with Entropy with 10km (max 5). Big grav well, entropy builder and a super heal if I get shot at.

Aside from that still a squishy ship.

You could go any career really, Morris runs a 500K plus exotic Tonnie build (temporal donnie) and he's an engineer. This toon is a sci toon, there are some specific career benefits (E.g. Sci toons get Sensor Scan, SubNuke, Scattering Field, co-op weapons etc.) but you can make any career work these days.

Science has Sensor Scan and Scattering Field. Is the damage enhancement from Attack Pattern Alpha (base damage strength) a cat2 damage boost or a final damage multiplier?

Its a base damage strength boost while providing Crit.Chance and Crit. Sev boosts. I would think its a final damage multiplier or likely cat1.

Tactical is always best for DPS...ALWAYS!

What Morris said, every build Tank, DPS, Sci Wizard..... all will work better on a Tac.

For raw DPS numbers sure, but remember the sci guys get nice boons like all the debuffing which ENABLES you tac guys to shoot stuff down

But generally speaking yes Tac > everything.

Yeah, TAC only make the pretty explosions because SCI have softened them up and gathered them in one place for you
