We will be performing shard maintenance on October 8 from 7-9:30 AM Pacific (14:00-16:30 UTC).

General:
• Made all the Second Chance Buyouts associated with the last Event Campaign available to buy until 1/2/21.
• Resolved an issue which was not letting players obtain the daily Phoenix Prize Pack mission.
• Resolved an issue that was preventing Captains from being able to change Bridge Officer Specializations.
• Resolved an issue where completing the “Synth Wave” TFO would sometimes incorrectly apply the AFK penalty.
• Resolved an issue that would sometimes cause the transports to get stuck during the, “Synth Wave” TFO, preventing progression.
• Resolved an issue that prevented the Salvage All Unprotected Items option from working properly.
• Resolved an issue that could cause a temporal anomaly to appear in Shangdu during the mission "Partisans."
• Corrected various typos throughout the episode, "Partisans".
• Resolved an issue that reduced the maximum in-game chat channels.
• Updated the description of the Infinity Lockbox to include the new prizes.
• Resolved an issue that was causing the Orithian Creepers to have abnormally large collision areas.

Known Issues:
• Some players are missing some of their characters, these will be returned.
• Players are receiving incorrect Direct X error messages, preventing them from playing the game.

Pretty long list of promised fixes, but 2 of the biggest ones unfortunately didn't make the initial cut. Hopefully for those affected they will follow up with more fixes soon!

It seems that they are "working on" character restoration. Maybe it's just that they won't be able to get it done by the time the patch finishes(?).
About the DirectX issue? I got nothing. I have never run across any issues with DirectX. But mine is as up-to-date as it can be. Meh...

I already respecced toon before I seen this may have waited to see if that resolved itself I know it would have been a first if it did but you can dream and be delusional from time to time

Yeah, those sounded like some potentially big bugs, and given the sheer volume of issues with this release, expecting all of them to have fixes ready in under 48 hours would be remarkable. At least based on Petrarch's experience, it sounds like they may be having to grind through the toon recoveries at least for the short term.

As for the DirectX piece, there will always be those trying to run games on older hardware. At least they are making an effort to try to figure that one out, since the easy cop-out would be to just say "we've moved on" and stop supporting the stuff that is now having issues.

Well Cryptic clearly don't just delete characters so must be everyone's else's fault!


Seriously though, taking two days for Cryptic to acknowledge they have deleted people's characters is absolutely shocking. Glad they will be rectifying that situation.

They simply fell through some anomaly into the Mirror Universe. We're waiting to see if they turn up again

Apparently there are still a few "kinks" to work out:

• C-Store items that are not reclaimable still have a highlighted Claim button.
• Some Captains still have TWO active ships and therefore cannot switch to a new ship.
• Continue to check your Skills and Traits. Reports are still coming in of Captains needing to be ReSpecced.

I get the feeling that respec is the fix for the Invalid Skills error at this point. At least they made it a freebie.
