Personality & Traits
General Overview: Because of his bluntness and almost perpetual good mood combined with his severe dislike for formality he often erroneously perceived as crude and unprofessional. He does not believe there are things that are unsuitable or inappropriate to be joking about. He is (in) famous “ Telling it how it is, speaking plainly and despises nonsense. He has is pragmatic, solution driven, likable and honest to a fault. His conviction that offense can only be taken, not given does make it inevitable that there are always some people who simply cannot stand the man.

He is a devoted father and Starfleet officer with a passion for flying who started his career as a non commissioned soldier working his way through the rank on sweat blood and tears.

The extraordinary talent for flying small maneuverable ships wasn’t discovered until he became a commissioned ensign. When the outpost he was stationed at had to be evacuated due to an asteroid storm he was forced to take the helm of the runabout carrying wounded citizen., and managed to dodge and weave through an incredibly dense field of asteroids and meteors and get the runabout through unscathed. Encouraged by his commanding officer at the time he agreed to apply for the advanced fighter training program .

There Schridt found his true passion and purpose, finishing top of his class . His flying style is instinctive and unorthodox, too much for some tastes, and as such has been able to make the difference between victory or death for Starfleet on several occasions, driving the argument for the wider adoption by Starfleet ot Fighers as part of their strategic and tactical resources. After the birth of his son, and the loss of his wife, he transferred to Starfleet’s Research and Development division where he has been part of the Starfighter Development department, closely involved with the development of Starfleet’s Multirole Space Superiority Fighter.

Strengths & Weaknesses: Loyal, dedicated, pragmatic and direct. His military career serves him well as an officer, tactician and strategist. His ability to relieve tension and joke in any situation, and his ability to engage with almost anyone on a personal level makes him almost universally likable and an asset to any group he is part of. His direct, blunt and to some insensitive ways are a strength as well as weakness as some might experience this as callous, insolent and offensive. His strong dislike for protocol and formality has not been very helpful in regards to his career, Starfleet being… well… Starfleet.

Ambitions: Become Captain of his own ship.

Hobbies & Interests: Devoted father to his son he relishes his time with his son. His interests are varied, from Science to history and from Darts to virtual entertainment. He also enjoys a good party likes good food. He is equally happy spending time reading a good book as he is trading jokes and stories with friends at a bar.

History
Personal History: Entered service as a crewman at the age of 18 after completing 3 months of bootcamp training. His commanding officers recognized his drive to be the best at everything he did, promoting him to Crewman within a year.

At this point in his career a traumatic experience seemed to have had a negative impact on his ambition. Though performing his duties with skill, dedication and well above average, his performance and attitude did not give reason to consider him for promotion.

Five years after his promotion to Petty Officer, a mission behind enemy lines went horribly wrong leaving Schrit and his platoon in hostile territory without communication with or suppport from Starfleet or Allies. Though his own logs downplay his role in the survival of all but 4 of his platoon members the reports and logs of the other members in the platoon clearly establish Schrit had taken command, and was instrumental in the platoon’s survival and successful completion of their mission.

His role as platoon leader was made permanent with his subsequent promotion to Chief Petty Officer. In the four years leading Platoon 833, depite several deployments and engagements, the platoon lost only 12 men. The lowest casualty rate by far during that period.

The low casualty rate along with the high success rate of the 833rd w as noticed by the admiralty, acknowledging that achievement was largely due to his skill, talent, devotion and dedication. The rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, bestowed upon very few over the centuries, was awarded to Schrit

During his service as MCPO Schrit took up studies and training courses to complete his knowledge and skill set to qualify for a commission. Admiral Quion, to which Schrit had been assigned as a leason officer, sponsored his application. Approval and commissioning took place on his 30th birthday. The evacuation of the Outpost he was stationed at had forced him to take control of the runabout and guide it off the planet through an incoming asteroid field to safety. A flight which to this day defies belief and is used in the training program of the Advanced pilot Training program.

Schrit himself went through the Afdvanced Fighter Pilot Training program, graduating within a year, top of his class. He was assigned to the USS Breda where he served with distinction for three years.

At this point he has become a father, and tragically lost his wife. With no family qualified or able to help he became a single father to his son, causing him to request a post at Utopia Planetia R&D as a test pilot. As it was clear that if his request was denied he had no choice but to resign his commission and Starfleet did not want to loose an officer like Schrit the request was approved. His skills, instincts and ability to translate the pilot’s views and needs into actionable problems and challenges soon got him assigned to the most ambitious and advanced fighter R&D program. After six years his role in the program was formalized with his promotion to Lieutenant Junior grade, and tasked with the duties of R&D’s Chief Test Pilot.

After the completion of the Multirole Space Superiority Fighter project, and the fighter’s entry into active service in the fleet, Schrit felt he and his son were ready for Schrit to return to active duty. At age 46 Schrit is one of the oldest officers to hold the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in Starfleet, which causes suspicion in officers unaware of his service record. Speaking to Schrit about it, or witnessing him performing his duty, cures those suspicions instantly in most cases.

Slim but tall boy with a face that seems perpetually content. Due to his part Orion heritage he has a slight greenish hint to his Caucasian skin color. It is only marginally lighter tinted than that of his father, who is himself half Human and Half Orion. Short hair usually styled very carefully into an out of bed look.. Comfortable in groups but also confident enough to achieve his goals on his own.

General Overview

If one knows Danre’s father one cannot help but notice how much of the boy’s character and personality were influenced by his father’s. He is almost as direct and blunt in his behavior and social interactions as his father is but seem to have instinctively more feeling for diplomacy and tact. Simply put Danre knows when to be polite and when to shut up. His demeanor and behavior is Happy content, and has a well defined idea of what is and what isn’t worth feeling differently. Observers would note Danre tends to let himself be drowned out by the group voice and supports whatever the group will decide. Those who know him better know that Danre has already learned that even a leaders of a group can’t achieve their goals if they cannot convince the group to support those goals and work together to achieve them. The one who can convince the group they have the same goals he has, and even convince members of that those goals are being set by themselves, has the greatest likelihood of succeeding when no one in the group are not aware of his manipulations or even the very existence of any manipulating individual.

Has ambitions to pursue a career in either Archaeology or computer science but also notes, when asked about that, he has plenty of time left to gain the knowledge and/or skill needed to form an intelligent decision concerning his future. Knowledge and skills that he as of does not posses.

He has a sharp mind and keep intelligence that is used with equal force and energy on any subject task or thought. Quick in dissecting any challenge of problem into it’s basic or core components, and handling each of those individually.


Strengths & Weaknesses

His devotion and love for his Father is unconditional and total as his father’s is to for him. Due to the events in his past he has developed an almost to great an attachment to his Father. As long as he perceives no risk or potential for his Father and him to separate he is a rather impressively intelligent, insightful and skillful boy that is a joy to be around. One incident ha s show however that when he does perceive a threat to him and his fathers unity as a family his intellect, insight and skill become singularly and solely employed to the task of countering that threat.

Ambitions

Has a strong preference in Archaeology or Computer Science at the moment but conscious that this can change over time with the development of experience and knowledge, and that he has some years until ambitions play an important part in shaping his future.

Hobbies & Interests

Doing anything with his Father tops the list with unchallenged sovereignty. He enjoys learning more about anything related to archaeology or computer science . Currently enthusiastic about the history of fighter craft and fighter pilots, the influence of computer science on those subjects and how it could be employed to the performance of the fighter vessels or its pilot.

History

Personal History

After his birth, at the age of 1, Danre lost his mother, after which he lived with and was cared for by his father. His father had been transferred from field duty attached to a Star Ship to the R&D in order to be able to provide proper care and parenting for him, and lived together with his father on Mars . Though being a happy, content and carefree life Danre began to recognize that his father hid much from Danre about both daily life as well as his emotions. As he got older it became clear that even though his Father never gave it any though to, nor acknowledge there being anything wrong with how much his Father had given up to be able to be the single father he has been for Arend.

A quote from Danre about his father:
“I have little need to worry about unwittingly making mistakes. My father has done everything I will do in the foreseeable future wrong in his life at least once. So if I am in the process of making mistakes or doing something wrong he recognizes that and straight out tells me I am making a mistake or doing something wrong. I have stopped challenging his cautions and trust in his ability completely. Never once has he ever been wrong about such things in my entire life.”
