You could pick and choose what to do in the old system...if it had a item you liked but a STF you didn't you could skip it and do something better later. If Cryptic was decent they could have left that system in along with the adding the buyout, but no...they left removed the token system so it forces you to play it or buyout. They don't even add old items to the phoenix store anymore and instead they gouge you on Mudd's Market

Sure they added buyouts which some players wanted....but they screwed players in multiple ways all in the name of greed

But you can still pick and choose if you want to run the events its not forced content is it, you still have the choice to play content or buyout that item the only thing that's you don't get is the option to have that particular event item sit in a tab to allow you to get it at the next event or a year later in terms of the summer and winter stuff though they do leave items in the event buyout tab for a reasonable enough period of time that if you so choose to want to get it you can but only via the buy out option, if i had to dislike the new system that would be the only thing.

Its better, you have more choice now you even now have multiple events to choose from i was so made up during the winter event with that option to run variable content for the winter daily progress rather than just having the option of the fastest game on ice. I thought it would be a winter/summer thing but nope the Temmer gave you 10 options to run to get your daily progress in and the Molor event is giving you 2 run options now also, personally i see that as a positive as you start getting fed up of one of them on your daily you can run the other if something happens in your life that prevents you from getting on every day and getting that item you also have an option now.

Mudds Market also come about eventually from people moaning over the phoenix packs and epic tokens and not ever getting one and asking for ways to buy missed event items myself personally would have preferred them to add a system to the phoenix that seen you upgrade your tokens in a similar way to downgrading them but with say a dil cost or something to make the epic tokens rather than Mudds. But again its a choice you can choose to buy the items they are not must haves or forced.

So many games do things different some make you pay or be subscribed for expansions access STO doesn't you just have to pay for the Ships and so on if you so choose to do so for said expansions but you get access, personally i would like to see more content rather than ships and events.

I feel they screwed themselves here as a subscription status that offered better perks than the one they did away with would be a better way to make money and people would pay that they screwed themselves when they did away with the Sub option and just retained the lifetime only option.

Yes, I agree. This one is easy and doable.

But it is only the beginning of another long grind tour. On the Plus side, at the end there is a D7 - the only high prized ship I currently want.

If I go to Event Campaign click on Reward Info I read:
Event Campaign III Prize: Premium T6 Starship Choice

This package will allow you to choose ONE prize from the following options:

and a list of ships. Some from lock boxes, some promo ships I think, but to me it's a
very clear list of what my options are. Now I know they announced 'any' lock box ship
on their stream but it seems to me that the 'any' term really got lost in the process. I apologize if I'm
ignorant but I do not see anywhere that they might give you other ships than those on that list.

It means you can't get ships released after that date, like for example when you finish the campaign you can't claim the Janeway class because it was released after that date. You wont be able to collect what ever 32nd century ship they release with the lock box that contains the 32nd century phasers

Quick note on running "The Breach" to confirm other's notes:

I use the T6 Arbiter Battlecruiser with the cloaking device slotted and fly in cloaked to the outer power relay (or whatever it is). This shaves about 30-60 seconds off of the full time. Ran this just now for the daily and was done within about 8.5-9 minutes.

Just one thing I want to add...you kinda need a quick ship though...I used my Vengeance the other day which is kinda slow I guess because I was only keeping up with the team. When the team got into combat with the first platform I was right by them and when they started combat I got decloaked, so you need to keep away from/ahead of them.

I hear you. I mostly run dreadnoughts and space wizard boats. Even popping competitive rep engine procs and other speed boosts, it is hard to keep up with anyone else in a dreadnought. Sci boats are fast enough to keep up, but exotic is rubbish for hitting immobile trench run targets and you definitely notice the slow recharge time on torps too. I can post 300-400k runs on my mains in ISE, but I feel like my dps is 5 for breach (not 5k, just 5 to myself every time I overshoot a tunnel turn and spend half a minute getting unstuck for the umpteenth time...)

Cloaked Pilot Escort with the Gamma Rep engine and core. Stay out of the plumes (or even run outside of the ship) and hit the brakes at the end of the first run. Turn right and away you go to the Power Relay. Let the team blow it while you glide on through to the Power Core room.

Finished it on Advanced today and still had over 8 minutes left on the clock.

Personally have not had a bad run in the Breach yet all been nice and quick currently on 1050/3500 event campaign

I ran it yesterday and I'm pretty sure I was brought out of cloak because someone destroyed a hardpoint I was by...being slow and without battlecloak is a pain there if you're trying to sneak by lol

Conveniently the anniversary ship is ideal for this mission. It’s fast, turns really well and has a built in battlecloak so you can run the trench insanely fast if you want to.
In fact the cloak is enhanced so you can actually run the whole motion without dropping cloak at all if you have a torp build on it.

I was thinking heavily on the Atlas for DPRM, but DPRM is not really neccessary for good builds lol. Probaly easier create a Romulan Alt get and pay 60 million EC. So I'm probaly going for a fun ship, maybe Kelvin Heavy Destroyer, I always liked the design, and the Bridge officer layout is nice, so I could make a theme build or perhaps even a cannon build.

You can always get the DPRM on a Romulan Alien (FED-Aligned) that looks like a human or almost any other species, and get the Kelvin Heavy Destroyer on that Romulan Alien.
