    In brazil it would be read as 3/4/21 since we put day in front of month.

    No sane date system puts the month in front... Tongue Out It should either be D M Y or ideally Y M D for easy sorting.

    Some countries use more than one method of writing the date, but I believe the US is the only one that seems to insist on putting the month before the date. It allegedly derived from a branch of British date conventions that was discarded.

    I'm sure that you're right, but for us Americans, it's more logical and efficient. We say today is 'April 1st, 2021', so logically it's represented 04/01/2021. If we were saying today is 'the 1st of April, 2021', we would represent that as most people around the world do, 01/04/2021. The American way is thus also more efficient by using fewer words to express the date.
