June marks the start of Pride month, the time of year when many countries celebrate and promote LGBTQIA+ rights.
Science Fiction is a place where we can imagine the world we want to create or inspire us to move towards an ideal. Star Trek has a long history of encouraging and promoting diversity of all types. It’s incredibly important that people can see someone that looks like them and is more reflective and representative of the world we live in.
As many of you may have noticed, the UFP has changed its logo to the rainbow colours and this will be in place for the month of June.
Our community’s mission has always been to create an all-encompassing environment for our members and so although we show our support this month with our Pride logo, the UFP believes that equality is not just a “once a month” issue which is reflected in our community’s no tolerance policy to discrimination and our diverse volunteer roster.
We hope you all will stand by our support of the LGBTQIA+ community and our LGBTQIA+ members.

Great example Silek. As one of the old dogs who has been around *most* of the lifespan of this organization, I will say that {UFP} has always been a welcoming community, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Kudos to all the leaders and members who have continued to ensure a diverse and welcoming community.
