    Hey guys I wanted to offer this as a more delineated breakdown of how each of our missions for Taskforce, or Multi-ship could be categorized. This way all missions would prominently display a general summary for what each captain would be diving into if chosen. Perhaps different ships within the task force could become Ambassadorial, Flagship, or develop a unique moniker based upon their cumulative success over time.

    Please let me know what you think as all addons or suggestions are welcome.

    General Mission Synopsis

    Deep-space Exploration: Starship equipped for long-range interstellar survey and mapping missions, as well as the ability to explore a wide variety of planetary classifications.

    Ongoing Scientific Investigation: Starship is equipped with scientific laboratories and a wide variety of sensor probes and sensor arrays, as well as the state-of-the-art dorsal subspace sensor assembly; giving her the ability to perform a wide variety of ongoing scientific investigations.

    Contact with Alien Lifeforms: Pursuant to Starfleet Policy regarding the discovery of new life, facilities aboard the Starship should include a variety of exobiology and xenobiological suites, and a small cultural anthropology staff, allowing for limited deep-space life form study and interaction.

    Federation Policy and Diplomacy: Ambassadorial Starship’s secondary role is the performance of diplomatic operations on behalf of Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets. These missions may include transport of Delegates, hosting of negotiations or conferences aboard in the vessel’s Conference Hall, courier for important people and/or items, and first contact scenarios.

    Emergency/Search and Rescue: Typical Missions include answering standard Federation emergency beacons, extraction of Federation or Non-Federation citizens in distress, retrieval of Federation or Non-Federation spacecraft in distress. Planetary evacuation is not feasible.

    Tactical/Defensive Operations: General missions for Cruisers, Destroyers, Escorts, Battlecruisers, Interceptors, etc for Starfleet Starships are designed to be resilient and ably armed fully capable of dealing with patrols, defensive skirmishes, or Major Taskforce Coordinated Battles.

    I think the point you're making is that the mission a Captain decides to accept or participate in should fit with the class of ship they've decided to create. Like not taking an Olympus class on a mission of long range exploration, or not taking an Oberth class on a combat mission. I don't think we need to be by the book about it, and leave a little wiggle room for events and incidents though. Starfleet ships do tend to get themselves into situations which their shipclass shouldn't be suitable for. (Latest example being the "Protostar"?!)

    I think the point you're making is that the mission a Captain decides to accept or participate in should fit with the class of ship they've decided to create. Like not taking an Olympus class on a mission of long range exploration, or not taking an Oberth class on a combat mission. I don't think we need to be by the book about it, and leave a little wiggle room for events and incidents though. Starfleet ships do tend to get themselves into situations which their shipclass shouldn't be suitable for. (Latest example being the "Protostar"?!)

    Hey i'm going to drop the Hornet. I created it without really thinking it through. I realize now the whole thing isn't going to be of much use unless wer'e going to all out war so I'm going to warp core breach it and come up with a better ship as soon as we have a year with three 2's in it!
