Each time I buy this pack, I get to choose any three items?

Yes! Even if you only purchase it once, the Mudd’s Secret Intel Choice Pack allows you to choose any three of the above ships, keys, tokens or upgrades. You can choose multiples of the same item, as long as it’s not a ship. Some of the possibilities include:

Three of the four ships
The Section 31 ship, and two Experimental Ship Upgrade Token sets, totalling 18 Captain Upgrade Tokens
Three Epic Phoenix Tokens
And more!


Are the ships bound to the character that buys them?

Nope! The ships are account unlocks, like everything in the Zen Store. Once you purchase the bundle and choose any of the ships, you unlock that ship for all your characters, immediately, and all future characters.

Can I claim a second ship of the same type?

Also no. Because the ships are unlocked for your entire account, you only need to choose each ship once. Therefore, should you purchase a bundle and choose the Vulcan Scout Vessel and two non-ship items, if you purchase a second bundle, you won’t be able to choose the Vulcan Scout Vessel again.

But I can choose the non-ship items again?

You sure can. You can choose anything that's not a ship up to three times each, per purchase of the bundle.

Even within the same purchase?

That’s right. If you only want Experimental Ship Upgrades, you can purchase this bundle once, choose the Experimental Ship Upgrades three times, and receive 27 tokens. It’s up to you!

Do I have to purchase more than one bundle to get all the items?

Yes, unless you buy the MEGA bundle.

Do I have to purchase more than one bundle?

No! If you just want the ships, or any other combination, just purchase it once, claim the three items you want, and never think of it again.

Do I have to purchase this bundle?

The power creep on torp builds has been stupid compared to everything else, and this is new bundle just lets people buy out the meta for such builds in one fell swoop. I'm half surprised they didn't offer a Lobi pile as an option to let one buy delphic torps and stuff to complete the meta-ness, but maybe they expected whales to pick that up alongside the S31 CHB from the last Mudd bundle launched a few weeks ago. I respect that Cryptic is a business and needs to make money like any other business, but it also feels like they are just catering to the DPS chasers. That's certainly a pretty vocal part of STO's fanbase (though likely a minority of the overall player base), but I feel like it is steering everyone towards cookie cutter builds instead of encouraging variety in playstyles, not to mention stirring up toxicity in various social media forums every time someone someone isn't playing an Alien Romulan Tactical officer and flying these ships and gear that requires billions of EC in game or hundreds in real currency on these bundles.

If that's what you like to do, that's certainly your choice. Personally if I don't have variety in my playstyle and builds, I get bored pretty quickly, and given that tac captain powers are basically just a bunch of DPS buffs to spam and nothing else, that gets old faster than anything in the game for me. Just wish the devs would provide more new stuff to appeal to players like me.

Probably due a nerf now seeing how much creep there’s been in the last year or so. Lol.

But as someone who flew torp builds before they were good or even remotely popular it doesn’t bother me. I’ve never chased the meta and don’t build my ship like these cookie cutter kinetic builds anyway and it does me fine.
You don’t need the Son’a trait to be good. You don’t need to use HY and a million lobi items to have a decent ship for content.

I've got max lifetime sub alts, they all have different builds some are lazy others require effort to play properly. My main is a sci heavy fed eng alien in a verne and I have the most fun with this one. It would be nice to see shield drain or resistance actually mean something again instead of just having them drop in the first couple seconds of a stf.
