Ukraine Support

Greetings,

I wish to ask the members of the community if you feel we should add support for Ukraine into our banner, or logo. As this is a political statement, I wanted to run it by the community before we did anything.

Poll will close if there is a clear majority, or after 24 hours.

Personally I think we should show support for those folks in Ukraine, while yes this is a political statement, Russia's invasion should be condemned and the man responsible removed from power.

While I support the initiative given the circumstances and current climate; ...is there any concern that this could paint a target on UFP by Russian hackers to take the site down? I know from what I have been following there is also a 'cyber war' going on. I guess someone had to throw in a word of caution.

...just my two cents, speaking with some previous military experience from in a command center

While this is indeed a political statement it's also an extremely clear-cut situation about who is wrong and who is right in this.

I doubt it. I work in cyber security and am responsible for my company's security, we keep watch and have more than a few resources tracking activities surrounding the war but currently there are no indications that cyber attacks will spill over to western countries. Of course anything is possible but there are far FAR more important targets in the west than the UFP.

I think it is a good idea BUT as this thing progresses, many countries are doing things like this online but many governments are asking the people not to do this (also with hacking their websites) as this could provoke them to point their target to the rest of Europe, so it’s a double feeling.

Russia will do whatever it wants, whether the west says anything or not. If our morals can be suppressed through fear and intimidation they weren't very strong to begin with.
