    I think the original Borg are still out there recovering from the effects of Voyager.
    It's left a bit ambiguous if Jurati and her faction are an offshoot or if she's let the timeline play out as it did and united the existing Borg. Just in the first episode Jurati mentioned during the briefing that the Borg they knew at that time had been "effectively decimated, functionally hobbled" which implies that while still considered a serious threat, they're not as able to project their power as they once were.

    Picard hugging Q really got me there, I'll admit I shed a tear. Q always tried to make Picard achieve his full potential (episode Tapestry season 6 episode 15) is a huge example of how Q did that. Also Wesley Crusher had somewhat of a fitting ending now and the Borg joined the Federation (temporarily) which is not something I expected. Anyways it was a great episode that ended the season 2 puzzle nicely.

    In the wake of this season finale, most of the cast are opening up about season 3. Sounds like only Seven and Raffi will be carrying on to season 3, with Allison Pill, Isa Briones, and Evan Evagora announcing on social media they are out, and presumably so is Santiago Cabrera since his character was gone by the end of the last episode. Sounds like season 3 might be more of a TNG sequel based on the news so far.
