Hi all,
Anyone notice increased Lagging and Rubber-banding after the Stormfall update? I have very decent internet speeds 221MB/s down and 22mb/s upload and did not have any lag previous to this. Is this Akami playing silliy buggers with their traffic shaping on their network for STO(i know they have done this previously for MMO's and restrict bandwidth on their servers especially for mmo games) or do you think the update is buggy and is causing the lag

Yes, the STO Servers are terrible right now I don't think it has anything to do with Akami this time.

Wouldn't be STO without them having rubber banding problems after a major patch at least once in a year

I'd suspect that it may be less about the new patch directly, and likely more about the amount of players trying to play right now. It wouldn't be the first time we've seen a bug cause this, but it is almost inevitable every time something big drops like new content or the summer or winter events.

Dropping 2 new story episodes is going to attract a good number of more casual players that are interested in STO just to play the stories, plus the event prize seems to be attracting a fair amount of interest for ground builds. Ground builds have also been shaken up since the Mudd's Time Device plus Motivation/Adapt exploit has been fixed, opening the door for the theorycrafters to figure out what is the new ground meta going forward since kit-module-only builds can't sustain 100% uptimes anymore. Add to that mix the release of another wave of Lower Decks content including the long awaited Cali-class ship and more Lobi gear, plus the greatly streamlined ground TFO Forged in Fire on the modern DS9 map. Collectively, that's a lot of fresh reasons to log on

Well for me I've been getting some rubber banding and disconnections....something is up for sure

Rubber banding is most seen in sector space and ground zones, e.g. Drozana. Almost all TFOs and patrols are lagging.

Since Sunday the rubber banding is gone, but last week after the update STO was nearly unplayable.
The Friday and Saturday events had been a real horror for me. DPS in the trash bin.

I can confirm that Iupiter Iratus is still rubber banding according to the TFO I just did, though it doesn't seem to be as bad as before. I've heard more issues about major bugs from reddit that seem to be the more pressing matter at this time.

Just done my Iupiter Iratus run no issues in that but when I loaded back into ESD I pinged from the exchange to the ship selector tonight

Bands be rubbering Lags be Lagging still occuring for me which is strange i have very good internet and a good(enough) PC i have done all the usual ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew reset router ping and tracerouted no issues it's all theeir end im 99% sure. Maybe i am just unlucky with my server being over populated or something, who knows?

I'm guessing event + new content = overloaded.

I imagine their changing hands isn't a cause, but it probably doesn't help.
