While on a routine supply mission to a colony planet, the U.S.S. Enterprise comes under an attack from an unknown malevolent force. Pike brings all his heart and experience to bear in facing the crisis, but the security officer warns him that the enemy cannot be dealt with by conventional Starfleet means.

I like the way they are doing this series much better than the other new Star Trek series
Same. The two current shows I look forward to watching every time are Lower Decks and SNW, both of them are so much fun and have pretty good writing (IMO).
Though I will say this episode was genuinely spooky. The Gorn are absolutely terrifying in SNW! Loved seeing more of our Aenar chief engineer, he's a cool character I want more of. And Pike is amazing as always, that guy can absolutely act.

So far this has a wonderful star trek feeling that discovery kind of keeps losing at times
