    I'm gonna have to go Thunderchild...now if it were a dominion war refit Galaxy class i would vote enterprise, but the enterprise was destroyed by an old bird of prey and never got said refit so Thunderchild.

    Pains me a little to say it, but despite the Galaxy being the closest thing the Federation had to a Battleship in the Dominon War frontlines, the Akiras were a constant presence so I'm going to root for the underdog on this one.

    I missed this one, but 1 extra vote for the Enterprise D wouldn't have made a difference.

    At the height of Federation might, all combat groups were formed around Galaxy wings because they were the embodiment of the Federations firepower. Similar to the current US Navy's task forces are all centered around carrier groups.
    An Akira may have been more purpose built for combat over exploration, but couldn't beat the indomitable presence of a Galaxy class (in my opinion).
