"Though information on the origins of these vessels is sparse and highly classified, more of these future ships continue to sporadically appear and get pressed into service. Named for the now extinct animal that once roamed North and Central America, the Mastodon is marked as the 11th vessel to bear the name and was discovered adrift at the edge of the Mar Oscura Nebula. Commissioned in 3072, Stardate 749183.8 at the Beta Antares Ship Yards, we have been unable to ascertain her origin prior to that point nor when the ship left its own time and arrived in ours. History it seems however has a sense of continuity, as each of the 3 previous Mastodons to date were ships with a tactical focus and this one is no different, regarded as a Heavy Battlecruiser. To date, the few other recovered vessels of this class have proven themselves to be extremely formidable opponents and highly manoeuvrable for a ship of its size."

I don't call this one a guide as I'm not the person to be asking about DPS chasing, I just put it here for some critique and information, as I've been tweaking it recently. After 7 years I finally ditched the Iconian set, though I've kept the engines as I favour an always there effect rather than a triggered one from the competitive rep. I haven't tweaked the DOFFs yet either as I'm waiting to finally finish the grind on the Gamma rep alt.
