Is there a way to access in game chat from outside the game?

I heard there used to be away doing that using Android. I know of Nvidia G-Force now. Tried it not a fan.

Handling the game administration should also be handy to be done via mobile phones or just on the net. Like handling the admiralty, fleet, …
Jus all of the things you don’t need any good graphics.

Used to be a means to do this with a lifetime membership and linking to the in-game chat code somehow. I worked with a few Discord servers that had in game chat linked to a real-time Discord channel. Don't think it works anymore though; it used some sort of XML viewer or something I think.

It was the XXMP service that allowed you to do that, but it was removed almost to the day 3 years ago. The original announcement thread is here.

RIP XXMP, I used to make use of that, I could have Pidgin open, and play another game.

But they decided to axe cross chat because of spammers, rather than trying to find a solution.

In fairness, I don't think I've had any gold spam since they killed off XXMP, so at least they seemed to have implemented something that had the desired effect. That said, I wish they had given us something in exchange. The old STO Gateway site could have potentially been a good alternative to have built out as an alternative, but sadly they never really bothered to flesh out that idea and killed it off about 5 years ago now.
