OK my Temporal Agent has now done all the main episodes and is now working on things like grinding commendations/reputation/admiralty etc.

I'm trying to work out though which of the ships I have available would be best for him going forward. At the moment he is using the T6 Heavy Destroyer which he's been flying since lvl 10 using dual heavy cannons and turrets with cannon rapid fire. What I'm wanting to do is switch to another of my available ships whilst retaining cannons (though possibly switching to cannon scatter volley rather than rapid fire).

In terms of the ships available I have the following:

T6 Heavy Destoryer (current ship, trait unlocked)
T6 Paladin Temporal Battlecruiser (not used at all on this character)
10th Anniversary Bundle (none used on this character yet, only just acquired)
12th Anniversary Bundle (none used on the character yet)

In terms of other stuff I have just hit lvl 3 reputation today and have 170k fleet credits. As far as more basic resources I have just under 100k refined dilithium and just under 20 mil ec

Which ship would you recommend and why?
Also which other ships would you recommend either taking consoles from for a build or using long enough to unlock the trait from?

By "Heavy Destroyer" are you talking about one of the Lifetime Sub ships like the Manticore or something else like the Kelvin Einstein or Kelvin D7?

Assuming you are looking at build performance and not just "space barbie" with this question and since you want to stick with cannons it sounds, you probably would be best served by switching at least initially to the Legendary Defiant. That would get you the Cannon Scatter Volley extension trait once you hit Tier 5 with it, and the Tier 6 trait off that one is a good one for energy weapon builds too, which would probably go a long way to boosting your performance over the old heavy destroyer. Cannon Scatter Volley is pretty powerful in most maps and situations and you'd be able to keep it up pretty much constantly once you have the Withering Barrage trait unlocked, but be mindful that you are going to draw a lot more threat since you'd be hitting multiple targets at once. The best way to get the extension trait for Cannon Rapid Fire is the Legendary Jem'Hadar bug ship that came out earlier this year, but sounds like that might not be currently in your stable of ships.

From there you could keep flying that version of the ship, but a lot of people prefer the Terran Adamant version of the Defiant a little more since you also have the 12th bundle. Otherwise, if you want something less squishy you might consider the Terran Lexington. You wouldn't be able to slot CSV3 or CRF3 since you wouldn't have commander tac, but you'd be able to slot Narrow Sensor Bands and Mixed Armament Synergy to offset having to run the level 2 version of either power, plus the flagship technologies set consoles work on it from your Legendary Verity so you have some strong options if you go that direction in regards to consoles. Dreadnoughts are pretty slow though, so if you aren't used to flying sluggish whales it might take some practice before you are used to flying it.

Beyond that, it kind of depends on what else you might already have as to what else you might need to pull. A lot of your ship gear if you are looking at "meta" options will tend to come from fleet stores and reputation, but the 2 anniversary bundles have no shortage of console options and starship traits to pull from to fill in any gaps you might still have in your build. What you might want to use though probably requires a bit more detail on your build goals though.

Yeah I agree with Taku. Honestly the 10th Anniversary was the best bundle I bought and one of the reasons of that is the Legendary Defiant.

Same here. I much prefer cruisers myself, but if you want cannons, go Legendary Defiant. Nothin' beatin' the hot rod.

Yes the T6 Heavy Destroyer is the one from the Lifetime sub.

I have just started flying the Legendary Defiant to unlock the traits after speaking to people on the Special Ops event this evening.

I'm not planning on using the Terran Lexington because I've just started flying that on my streaming character and trying to have a bit of variety.
