Does anyone know how this is possible?
I bought a Vaadwaur Polaron Rapid Split Bolt Rifle for one of my characters from the Lobi store recently, and I've had a couple of them before in the past, so I know they are [CritH]x2 [CritD] at Very Rare and can't be re-engineered.
When I equipped it on my character, this happened:
I have no idea how this is possible, and at least from my end it doesn't seem to be a caching issue (I tried restarting, deleting STO's cache folder and it didn't change), and it's been at least a week or two and stayed the same the whole time. I also upgraded it to Mk XV and nothing changed.
Is there some bug I accidentally exploited? Or maybe there is some other cache that has been corrupted that I don't know about?

Try to switch of the protection and look if you can change the modifiers. In the past they changed what can and what can‘t changed.

Sorry, I completely forgot I made this thread for a while.
I tried turning protection off and on, having the item in my inventory, it definitely won't let me re-engineer it. Even more curiously, as an experiment I upgraded it to UR and it gained [CrtD] instead of [CrtX].
