Scott “Taku” Lee 1967 - 2023

It is with great sadness that I bring the news of the passing of a much loved, and respected member of this community. Taku was a friend to many, his warmth, positivity, and kindness spread through the community, he also put a lot of work in as well, most notably providing the patch notes threads for Star Trek Online.

His mother shared with me his lifelong interest in Star Trek, and how he would watch the Original Series with them when it was first syndicated, he was just a small child at that time, but we all know the man he grew up to be.

Taku joined the community in July of 2017, quickly becoming a well liked member, and as such, we have made the decision to grant him the rank of Retired Admiral, usually reserved for those who retire from CL6, but we can all agree, it is an honour befitting for someone who dedicated much of their free time to this community.

Please take this time to reflect upon your interactions with Taku, and share some of your favourite memories.

This is an extremely sad day for our community, we have lost one of us, a dear friend and a great person to have around.

While I didn't talk to Taku much he was a much loved member of the community and his passion showed as he kept up with the patch notes even while ill.

That definitely seems like a fitting gesture making him a retired admiral.

Rest easy now Taku, you will be missed.

I remember when I first met Taku when I was still serving as a Special Ops Commander, his dedication and upbeat attitude always stuck with me as he became a well known face at the events and here on the forums. He always made me smile and it was a pleasure to call him a friend.

Thoughts go to his family at this difficult time.

I may have only known him for a short while but I could tell. Taku was a great person. I was always happy to see him when he turned up in chat or posted the next patch notes. He always was a positive presence and never seemed to be down. His patch notes always prompt and expertly organised and his discussions with us lot in chat engaging.

I Salute you Admiral Taku. Boldly go into your next adventure, and remember to have fun.

This is a sad day and I while I did not know Taku very well, I do know that he was a good person and will be missed.

Taku was a good man, well liked and respected by everyone here, the community was a richer place with him. Though he was dealt a blow with his health, he made the most of his final months and faced them with respect and dignity, sharing his journey with everyone.

It was a pleasure to have known him and he'll be missed by us all.

I cannot think of any one interaction or funny thing with Taku as everytime we interacted it was always fun!
One of us would normally start by insulting the other, usually a comment about our respective volunteer work in UFP.
If we were both online at the same time in Star Trek Online, it was a race to see whom would message whom first.
A few of you may of noticed our verbal back and for in the chatbox on the site.
If he thinks this is finally over and he won, wait until we meet again!

I'm going to miss you my friend.
