Chief Petty officers log Jan 11 2024.
Went to Carl Smith beach today, and took with me a new full-face snorkel. My son and wife also have one and me and my son had a blast looking at the fish and sea turtles. My wife on the other hand, seems to have an issue with swimming. The moment it got too deep for her to touch bottom she panicked. Had to tow her back to shore where she could take her mask off, because they aren't built for hyperventilation.
As a note to anyone who reads these logs, snorkeling is super fun, but you have to fight your bodies natural reaction to being under water. Being me and my son both have been using these a few times, it wasn't anything when a wave went over our heads. My poor wife on the other hand couldn't handle that for a brief second, the valve closed, and she couldn't breathe for a second. Yes the "horns" have an auto shut valve, so you don't suck in water. Great safety feature.
So got to see a giant sea turtle. Was almost as big as my son. Also got to see Gnathonadon fish, Moorish Idol's, some crabs, Longnose butterfly, and a yellow stripped goatfish. had a blast today.

Petty officers log Jan 30th, 2024.
Been a long few weeks working on RL stuff here. Going to be doing my next book signing on Friday at the local night market. Also been doing more snorkeling and found several places where sea urchens love. Glad i make my son wear swim shoes because wile we were snorkeling, we found them in common area's were people like to swim too.
In other news, I've been playing with an AI to generate images of my book's characters, and most been coming out pretty good. Learning to use an AI isn't as easy as it looks.
