Discord Setup Guide

A guide on how to setup Discord for use with the UFP's Discord servers

Discord Logo

This guide will help you download, install and setup your Discord client to work with the UFP's Discord server. This will allow you to communicate with your fellow UFP members in real time. There is also the added benefit of being able to use your web browser to communicate on Discord and use Discord's free mobile apps!

While behaviour on Discord is more relaxed, the Code of Conduct still applies so we ask members to use common sense in accordance to the rules on Discord.

Should you have any issues following this guide or in setting up your Discord client, please let us know via the Support Centre or by contacting any member of Technical Services.

Step 1

Download and install the Discord client which can be found HERE

Step 2

Run the Discord Client and click the Plus symbol on the bottom left of your Discord client.

Now Click Join a Server and then enter https://discord.gg/g8GGPYNttW as the invite link.

Step 3

Once you are connected with our Discord server, change your nickname to match your UFP username by clicking on UFPlanets.com at the top of the channel list and then select Edit Server Profile. Enter your UFP username in the space that says Server Nickname.

Step 4

To connect to the UFP's Discord server, you now only need to open your Discord client!

Step 5

Once you join, you'll be presented with a question box. Please select the divisions you're interested in and this will grant you access to those channels. Read and accept the rules of the server and you'll be able to start talking on the server!

Step 6

A member of the CL5 or CL6 team will grant you your appropriate Clearance Level once your username has been confirmed against a UFP username on our forums.
