Next year, one of Twitter’s most famous satirical Trek accounts is getting its own book.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Since October 2011, Mike McMahan has used the Twitter account @TNG_S8 to give us TV Guide-style summaries of some nonsensically hilarious plots from the non-existent eighth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. In early 2015, his famous tweets will be adapted into an officially licensed book.

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Warped, An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season, will feature detailed plot descriptions for each episode, trivia, set photos, and behind-the-scenes looks of the “troubled production” of the eighth season and its plots. The book will be written by McMahan and illustrated by Joel Watson and Jason Ho. Watson is the creator and artist of geek webcomic HijiNKS ENSUE, and Ho is a longtime artist at Bongo Comics, a company famous for publishing the comic versions of The Simpsons and Futurama. Warped is due to be released in ebook and paperback form on March 3, 2015.

@TNG_S8, which has over 87 thousand followers, displays satirical and exaggerated plots for the fictional eighth season’s episodes. In the classic style of the show, the plots usually juxtapose an important mission with a subplot, usually with the former being more serious to better emphasize the subplot’s ridiculousness. McMahan is careful to only exaggerate the universe, rarely truly breaking it for the sake of comedy (save for some special occasions, and the several unfortunately gruesome “accidents” of Lieutenant Barclay).

“I thought it would be fun to create an artifact from an alternate version of our universe: a tongue-in-cheek guide to the production of an – admittedly silly – season of TNG." McMahan told StarTrek.com. "I had a great time taking the tone of the jokes in @TNG_S8 and applying them to the expanded format of a guide, which gave me room for crazier episodes, dialogue, trivia, and plenty of Riker. I hope fans enjoy laughing with Geordi, Data, Worf, and good old Barclay as much as I enjoyed writing their antics.”

WHICH "EPISODE" ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO READING ABOUT IN THE FINAL PUBLICATION?

Lol

Riker cautiously dates a sexy, sentient bomb.
I can actually see that happening…
