CBS has unveiled its own streaming service for all of its content, including every episode of every Star Trek series made so far.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

CBS’ new streaming service, CBS All Access, offers access to almost all of CBS’ archived content. This of course includes every episode of every Star Trek series to date. Some currently broadcasted TV shows are also available, with new episodes streaming the day after they air.

At a monthly fee of $5.99 (£3.80), All Access’ on-demand library features over 6,500 episodes of TV shows including Star Trek: The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise. Other CBS content includes old and recurring shows such as Blue Bloods, 60 Minutes, Twin Peaks, MacGyver and Cheers. If you're a die-hard Star Trek fan (and we know you are) plus a fan of some of these shows, this is a win-win scenario just for you! The service can also be used to watch Live TV on CBS in select cities.* Older programs are ad-free, while more recent programs show ads less frequently than on TV. All Access has a one-week free trial available for those who want to give it a try.

All Access uses an over-the-top content delivery system, like those of Netflix and Hulu. All Access can be accessed via web browser or via the All Access app for smartphones and tablets running iOS or Android.

“This new subscription service will deliver the most of CBS to our biggest fans while being additive to the overall ecosystem,” according to CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves. “Across the board, we continue to capitalize on technological advances that help consumers engage with our world-class programming, and we look forward to serving our viewers in this new and exciting way.”

*Live streaming via All Access is currently only available in these US cities, which all share or have their own local CBS stations:
Baltimore, Maryland
Boston, Massachusetts
Chicago, Illinois
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
Denver, Colorado
Detroit, Michigan
Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota
Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Florida
New York City, New York
Philadelphia/Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Los Angeles/San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose/Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto, California

Outside of Star Trek, not sure what other CBS shows I watch, the problem here is they are a bit late in that Netflix has had Star Trek out for a while, though it might encourage some UK subscribers. Sounds nice, not sure if I'd make much use out of it.
