Hollywood Auction 83, it sounds a bit boring really, it's the name of an auction being hosted by Profiles in History which runs from the 29th of June to the 1st of July and despite it's rather uninspiring name it is set to be the largest Star Trek auction ever.

Profiles in History was founded in 1985 by Joseph Maddalena (the star of the 2010 Syfy’s hit show, Hollywood Treasure) and describes themselves as a leading dealer in guaranteed-authentic original historical autographs, letters, documents, vintage signed photographs and manuscripts, successfully establishing itself as the world’s largest auctioneer of original Hollywood memorabilia, having held some of the most prestigious and successful auctions of Hollywood memorabilia and owning virtually every Guinness Book record prices for original screen-used memorabilia.

Some of the highlights of their previous Hollywood auctions include Luke Skywalker’s light saber from Star Wars for $240,000 and a full-scale model T-800 Endoskeleton from Terminator 2: Judgment Day for $488,750. Their biggest single item sale is the Marilyn Monroe “Subway” Dress from The Seven Year Itch for $5.52M in 2011, personally I would rather have the T-800 but that's just me.

For Hollywood Auction 83, some of the pieces so far announced include scripts from the original series, an art director's script with mock ups for the design of the constitution class USS Enterprise, costume pieces including those worn by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy and various props. There is also a wooden child-sized Captain's chair with the word "KaPtAiN" on it which Scott Bakula had created as a joke gift for Patrick Stewart after the Enterprise E's Captain's chair was stolen during shooting for Star Trek: Nemesis.

In addition to Star Trek items you will also find items from Doctor Who, James Bond, Spaceballs and Star Wars.

Profiles in History's description of the event is as follows:

Is there anything on the list that you would love to own and if you could own any piece of Star Trek memorabilia what would it be?

Looked at everything, nothing that really impresses me. I suppose if I had money to burn, maybe the Robocop costume.

As for the Trek stuff, maybe Spock's uniform

I think some of the scripts would be pretty cool to own and the KaPtAiN's chair would certainly be a one of a kind.

As for non-Star Trek stuff I wouldn't mind James Bond's tuxedo, some of the Disney pieces seems pretty cool and I would defintely like an X-Wing and the Spaceballs Winnebago.
