PC players will be familiar with the system, but now we are going to see it and the benifits on consoles.

Many PC players of Star Trek Online will know the holding system for fleets inside and out, from the starbase to the spire, players can donate to progress the bases and get benefits from them. Some of the benefits of the holdings is getting better gear for end game content. Recently, PC players saw the commodity input for holdings changed to Energy Credits, this might have been a change to prepare for consoles to get the system, so all players get a similar experience from donating. I could also imagine that buying a large amount of commodities on console would be a bit more difficult that it is on PC!
The the moment, the consoles will only be getting the holdings upto the Fleet Research Lab, not getting the latest one that is available on PC, however I am sure once the updates roll out for consoles, like the Fleet Armada, that the consoles will get the latest holding that we see on the PC.
For the UFP, we will be doing out best to ensure that there is a holdings policy in place for consoles, when this update is released, so that our members can contribute. All starting from scratch, for some, this might be a fun experience to have and for those who haven't experienced holdings from the start to the end, it will be something new to witness. I can say from my own experience, seeing the starbase go up a tier each time, it was a nice thing to see.
