After narrowly missing out on getting the role of Geordi La Forge on TNG, how did it feel years later to finally get your staring role on Voyager?
"It was great to have landed a regular role on a series that I knew was going to be in air, and run for at least 5 years or more."
What is your favourite episode that you did on Star Trek: Voyager and why was it?
"My favourite role was the two-part episode, "Future's End". I enjoyed the two weeks of shooting outside the studio."
Tim Russ as Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager.You seem to gravitate toward Star Trek roles. How much of a Star Trek fan are you in real life?
"Wasn't my choice, the roles came to me. In truth, I watched the original series along with most of the country because there were only 3 stations back then and one of them played the same 3 shows over and over for years…Star Trek was one of them and the stories were good."
Given the number of guest roles you have portrayed across a number of Trek series and movies, any chance we may get to see you on Discovery?
"I'd love to do some work on Discovery, or any of the others under that umbrella. But it would be great to be offered an opportunity."
What was it like to be involved in an episode of Star Trek TNG and take on Captain Picard?
"I enjoyed working with Patrick Stewart, he is a very cool guy. It was my first opportunity to work on the show, and led to all the rest of the opportunities I had on Trek."
