William Shatner has starred in two documentaries explaining the background, set, design, and filming of the Star Trek Franchise. This time, he hits home for viewers and Trekkies across the universe as he touches on the direct effects of the Trek Franchise on real world Arts and Sciences. Among the many questions he answers, he hits on the development of ideas in the scientific world and Star Trek's Inspiration for many of it's scientifically inclined viewers and fans. He also hits on the effect the franchise has on the future of entertainment and arts across the world.

The new documentary, "The Truth is in the Stars", has our favourite and original Captain James T. Kirk interviewing major players in the advanced sciences over the past few decades and some members of the Entertainment and other Artistic Worlds. Through all of the documentary he is seen alongside, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stephen Hawking, Astronaut Chris Hadfield and many others. From Whoopi Goldberg to Seth McFarlane, he is seen in what some would say his best Trek documentary to date.

For as long as we can remember, William Shatner has participated in, suffered from and helped to promote his own bashing for being in the Star Trek series. He takes on the burden, this go around, of trying to show his fans and bashes the effects he and his fellow Trek actors and cast members have had on the scientific advancements within the creation of the franchise.

This documentary has aired on Canada's The Movie Network and will be available sometime in the late spring on Netflix to most countries. Here's a first look at the Official Trailer:
