In an interview conducted by vulture.com, about many aspects of CBS All Accsess, Marc DeBevoise was unable to set a date for when Star Trek: Discovery would air. When asked if it would be shown this fall, he simply replied "We're not stating", so no real answer there!

Although in a previous question, asking about why there is no premier date or launch window, he did seem to give a reason, saying "As you said, we’re not tied to any specific release date. It’ll be there when we’re ready to do it, and when we feel it’s in a great place.", so work is still ongoing and they aren't prepared to release the series until it is deemed ready. In that same response, he also commented on how Star Trek: Discovery is going, saying "It’s going great, I’ve actually been up there [to the set]. It is, you know, phenomenal. It is huge. And we’re very excited about the content, the creators, the actors, all coming together". This is probably the most promising thing we have heard about the series in some time, it might mean the wait is worth it.

The rest of the interview covers CBS All Access, target audience and other such questions. Although, it's still an interesting read overall, if CBS All Access is something that is available to you, so our American members, you might be interested in some of the other things said. Such as the audience they have now is a younger one compared to that of the average CBS viewer, this might be due to streaming platforms appealing more to younger generations, rather than older ones, who prefer traditional broadcasting.

What do you think? Is the delay really for the best of intentions or do you think there is something else going on?
