Founded in 1972, the Saturn Awards are annually presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films. The Academy’s 51st Award ceremony was held in Burbank, California, in front of an all-celebrity audience on Sunday 4th of February 2024.
Star Trek: Picard (Season 3) won awards across four categories; these were,
Best Science Fiction Television Series: Star Trek: Picard
Best Actor in a Television Series: Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: Picard)
Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series: Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: Picard)
Best Supporting Actress in a Television Series: Jeri Ryan (Star Trek Picard)
Star Trek: Picard wasn’t the only win for the franchise, both Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: The Next Generation were honoured at the event. Paul Wesley won Best Guest Star in a Television Series, and the whole Next Generation Cast were awarded with The Lifetime Achievement. This represented a break from the norm, as this award would normally go to an individual as opposed to an entire franchise.
To explain the unique honour, the Saturn Awards posted a statement explaining their decision.
