Hey everyone.
So im trying to start doing some 3d modelling.
I have a program called 'art of illusion' (Freeware). As i am just seeing if its worth me doing 3d modelling. 
So any opinions are invited and apreciated. This took about 45 mins to an hour to do. Just slapped in some polygons, curves and some lighting just to test them out. - Please bear in mind, this is no specific ship. Kinda looks like an olympic but meh. 
p.s The colours are not as textures, they are there for the mere reason of making that part of the ship stand out. So yeah, any opinions welcome.
Here is the code. - Purple = Primary Hull
- Red = Forward Phaser Strip/Bank
- Green = Warp Nacelles

If your a student you can get 3DS MAX for free on a academic license or you can try blender which is free aswell, their are plenty of tutorials out thier some of the interfaces are abit all over the place to get some use to.
if you google blender noob to pro their are plenty of tutorials about making 3d houses with windows and doors etc alot of cool stuff in fact Id suggest giving them a shot it may help you peice together a ship or any other object you wish to create.

Is blender available for mac. I'm only in the 10th grade, and i have a Mac, 3ds max = Windows.

I think you can get Maya which is simular to max but for Mac (not 100% sure on it) and as for blender I really dont know best to google the website and have look.
