I will be getting a new computer in the near future, which is good because I can't play STO until I do. The expected receipt date is no later than may 25. While it will not be an elite gaming machine, I think it should fare well enough... It's a Dell XPS 8300 and was ranked by PC Magazine as a best buy for the money. Here are the specs:

I like the stats, very good for what the market has to offer, personally havnt got good hopes for a Dell (but not everyone can build one). the more the merrier in STO see ye around.

I have owned a Dell in the past and found it to be a reliable product. Of course, Dell also handles Alienware, so they must know one or two things about computers.
I've had alienware computers in the past and dell. My last 2 laptops and 2 desktops have been dells. All have been great. I usually go for the XPS setups (for laptop and desktop), as they come close to Alienware in performance (of course in my humble opinion).
The ONLY problem I've had with a dell was my M1710 XPS laptop. It was a design problem with the nvidia video card. Nevertheless, after a class action law suit, I got it repaired for free. I used this laptop heavily for gaming. Now that I have it back, I need to install STO on it and see how it runs. 
But all in all, I like Dell. Though, I do advise that you 'get what you pay for'. So if you go too cheap (Hey, I got this computer for $500), don't expect it to run like a solid system that you have to pay $1500-1800 for.
I hope they ship your computer early Stormy.

They actually DID ship early. It's scheduled to be here today (according to the FedEx website). I'll probably try to at least run one mission on STO tonight once it's set up. The only problem is.... I can't leave work early today!

The new computer is awesome! The graphics on this one are so much better than the one I had been using. I had no idea what I was missing. When my ship explodes it's spectacular...... I mean when the enemy ships explode it's spectacular!
