Thorpe Park Trip - Final Details

Following yesterday's TeamSpeak meeting we are now in a position to confirm more details of the trip. Members that have already registered their interest now have the opportunity to confirm their attendance. If members would like to come they will need to ensure they carefully read the following information and follow the instructions on how to confirm their attendance.

Members failing to confirm their attendance as requested may result in them being unable to take advantage of our FREE ticket offer.

Can I bring someone?

Non-members will be able to attend if this has already been discussed when registering your interest in the trip. Non-members will not be eligable for a free ticket and as such will need to make their own arrangements for park access.

When are we going?

The event will take place on Saturday July the 30th. Some members will also be at Thorpe Park on Sunday, July the 31st and members are welcome to join them if they wish however the event itself will be limited to July the 30th.

What time do I need to be there?

Thorpe Park opens at 9:30am. We recommend anyone attending the trip plans their journey so that they arrive at Thorpe Park at about 9am. Nearer the time a document will be produced detailing the specifics of when and where we will be meeting as well as contact information for those going.

How much will it cost?

{UFP} members (CL3, CL4 and CL5) will gain access to the park for FREE on Saturday July the 30th. Although park access will be free we will be accepted contributions towards the cost of your ticket should any members wish to make one however this is not a requirement.

What if I need a hotel?

Thorpe Park have links to 30 hotels within the local area, members will need to arrange their own accomodation. Our recommendation is that members use the Crown Hotel Chertsey which is just over a mile from Thorpe Park.

What do I need to do if I want to come?

Since the details of the trip have now been confirmed members are now able to confirm attendance.

If you have already registered your interest then you need to send me a PM titled Thorpe Park Trip stating in the message body that they are definately planning on attending. Members wishing to come on the trip will need to confirm their attendance by Sunday the 19th of June at the latest if they wish to be eligable for FREE park entry.

To take advantage of the FREE park entry you will be required to pay a £20 deposit which will be returned to you on the day. This is to prevent us paying for tickets for members that do not attend. Instructions as to how to place your deposit are in the following post.

If you have not registered your interest in advance you will be able to attend however you will NOT be eligable for the FREE ticket offer and will have to make your own arrangements for travel, accomodation and park entry.

Only members that have already registered their interest in the trip are eligable for a FREE ticket. In order to confirm your attendance please send a PM to me titled Thorpe Park Trip and state in the body of the message whether or not you will be attending then proceed to place your £20 deposit.

To place your £20 deposit to secure yourself a free ticket:

Step 1
Press the Donate button (either on the top navigation bar or at the donation section of the forum front page).

Step 2
Enter £20 for your donation amount.

Step 3
Log in to your PayPal account.

Step 4
Click 'Add special instructions to the seller' and enter your {UFP} Username and the words Thorpe Park Deposit.

Step 5
Complete the transaction.

Step 6
Congratulate yourself for securing your place on a trip that is going to be legendary!

You should receive a PM within 24 hours of your donation to confirm it was received. Those eligable for a FREE ticket will receive their £20 deposit will be returned to you at the event. Remember this trip is being financed by SFC members out of their own pockets so if you would like to make some contribution to the cost of your ticket it would be greatly appreciated, if you would like to do this please let me know when you PM me to confirm your attendance.

For anyone who is booking at The Crown Chertsey, check for prices at www.booking.com before going through the hotel's website. I just saved £9 that way.

Maybe booking.com are allocated a certain amount of rooms because if you book through the hotel it didn't say anything.

Just a quick note, there is a travel lodge not too far from the park in sunbury. rooms from around £40 if that helps anyone.

I dont mean to kick up this thread alot but we talk about hotels what about people traveling by train or bus or even looking for the cheap way there i going to come up with a few details that i found on way to get there

By Train

Regular South West Trains run from Waterloo direct to Staines, which is the recommended railway station for traveling to THORPE PARK.

A map showing the location of Staines Railway station in relation to THORPE PARK can be found here.

Approximately 5 trains run per hour to and from London Waterloo, with a journey time of between 30 to 50 minutes. Staines can also be reached directly via other mainline stations:

Reading: Trains run approximately every 30 minutes with a journey time of 46 minutes, and a less frequent service running on Sundays.
Weybridge: Trains run approximately every 30 minutes with a journey time of 29 minutes, and a less frequent service running on Sundays with 1 train every hour.
Windsor & Eton Riverside: Trains run approximately every 30 minutes with a journey time of 14 minutes.

The 950 shuttle link operates from Staines station to THORPE PARK running every 15-20 minutes - details of which can be found in the Bus section below.

By Bus

Staines Bus Station is a 5 minute walk from Staines Railway Station. Buses to THORPE PARK depart from Stand 2, however, the 950 THORPE PARK Express departs directly from Staines Railway Station running every 15-20 minutes.

From Addlestone - take the 51 to THORPE PARK
From Chertsey (Heriot Road) - take the 51 / 446 to THORPE PARK

From Woking - take the 446 to THORPE PARK

i found out that if you catch a gray hound couch or national express or even mega bus in your local areas you be surprized how cheeply you get a good deal

If you by bus to london you get off at london victoria and hope the tube to the London waterloo and take you from there but like Hath said dont be afraid as we all meeting for the first time and it would a great time if also you looking for somewhere to stay for the night or 2 as trains to certain areas will get you home relly relly late as me hath found out if i to leave thorpe park around 7pm i not get home till 12 midnight and i know there is no local bus for me at that time of night i dnt fancy walking home lol so try and find the best deals to suit your needs if you dont mind B AND B there sometimes work out cheaper
Hope i have help most of realise it not all that hard to get there as some people may think i most likely be on train with 3 changes i not that put off the idea

Could everyone that is planning on attending please PM me with their full name (real name not UFP username) mobile phone number so we will be able to coordinate meeting up. We would also recommend providing emergency contact details (please include your contacts name, relationship with you and their phone number).

Could you please also confirm:
that you have planned your travel to and from the event,
whether you have arranged accomodation (if you require it),
what day you will be traveling there,
what day you will be traveling back,
what time you will be arriving at Thorpe Park on the Saturday,
what time you will be leaving Thorpe Park.

I still wish I could have joined up with the festivities and the fun but its way out of my budget last check it would have been close to $800 American dollars just to get there and back not counting other transportation and hotels. Fairly out of my budget lol.
